KoF2k2UM Kasumi Bug Tutorial by K’rows

K’rows is back with another King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match glitch tutorial revolving around Kasumi’s counter specials. Once again it’s explained step by step in Korean – so if anyone can translate, that would be really helpful.

notes:
It seems that triggering Kasumi’s counters with certain attacks allows you to cancel out and continue the combo. However, the exact requirements and limitations of the bug are unclear.

“Introducing Myself” by Snoooootch

I don’t think i’ve ever seen anything like this before. It’s essentially a trailer for three different projects, while also serving as a personal introduction. An awesome idea, to say the least.

notes:
If any of these upcoming videos interest you, please head over to Snoooootch’s u2b channel and take a minute to subscribe. Why wouldn’t you? Also, i didn’t know that Fei Long causes longer superfreeze than Ibuki in SSF4. That’s odd.

KoFXIII Character Combo Videos (11.15)

The fourth set of King of Fighters XIII individual character combovids has finally been released by SNK’s Hong Kong branch. This batch covers the classic Art of Fighting team and the Ikari Warriors team – with plenty of high-powered damage to go around.

notes:
Clark, Leona, Ralf, Robert, Ryo, and Takuma make up the fourth batch. This time we’ve got Ryo with a full damage combo, along with everyone else reaching the 90% damage mark with the exception of Robert. By the way i’m really digging Takuma’s new look. He reminds me of the cheesy old karate master in Return of the Street Fighter.

Run It Back: The Road to SoCal Regionals – Episode 2

The second episode of Zaid “RedRapper” Tabani’s documentary follows the three main players from the previous installment – Jorge, Brett, and James – as they prepare for SoCal Regionals. Make sure you take a minute to read RedRapper’s notes too. Again, i can’t say enough about how absurdly time-consuming it must have been to edit something of this magnitude.

highlights:
jchensor’s match training to-do list at 4:45, CaliPower’s take on the magic of arcades at 6:38, JWong’s view of risk in SSF4 at 15:11, custom international welcome signage at 17:33 …

Shoto Shuffle by Pokey86

This was intended to be a combo video displaying only anti-air combos, but my lack of creativity, and in some cases execution got the better of me. That said it’s still fun to make a video, and this one has a ton less (mandatory) text than my last one.

notes:
All combos, barring the first one, follow typical meter restrictions. However for ease of recording i use an EX Focus to set up combos. (Trust me, it makes recording a lot easier.) People will no doubt notice this, but just consider the Focus as the “beginning” of the combo. Read on for a full transcript of every combo.

The Dogface Show, Episode 9

The triumphant return of the Dogface Show was broadcast live from SoCal Regionals featuring the Three Cali Kings of Street Fighter: John Choi, Mike Watson and Alex Valle! These three oldschool legends sat down with Dogface to discuss the highs and lows of their Street Fighter career, how they met, and what the future of competitive fighting gaming looks like.

notes:
This single-part segment isn’t the full interview, but rather an introduction to get the word out there for those of you who might’ve missed it on the stream. To see the whole show, please check out the Ustream archive link below.

Scaling Back

Well, i’m sure most of you guys have noticed the drama on Sonic Hurricane by now. Obviously that’s going to impact ComboVid as well. I haven’t really decided what i’m going to do here, but this will probably be the end of regular daily updates around here.

That means no more daily matchvids except for screenshot winners, and i’m not even sure if i’ll keep doing weekly screenshots. We’ll see how it goes. And i’m still waiting for a few players to respond to interview questions, so the interviews will keep rolling at least for a little while.

I’ll probably continue posting new combovids that my friends release or that authors send in. On average, there are probably only one or two exceptional combo videos released per week, so i’ll post the ones i happen to watch and enjoy.

ComboVid won’t die, but i don’t have enough fuel in the tank right now to enact the grand plans i had for this website. So the only logical thing to do is take my foot off the pedal and coast. Otherwise stressing out just to maintain daily updates isn’t getting us anywhere.
