World Heroes Perfect Combo Exhibition by 538 / KYSG

Posted on March 29, 2011 by Maj

Apparently all of this footage was recorded in October and November of 2008, but we’re only seeing it now as “Incompleteness selection #04” for KYSG’s 10th Anniversary. There’s a lot of crazy stuff in this game, so i’d say it’s worth watching for the absurdity alone.

highlights:
WHP Muscle Power midscreen whiff dropkick infinite at 4:19, Captain Kidd ghost shark juggles starting at 6:00, Ryoko redizzy Taunt kill at 11:42, and Kim Dragon triple redizzy at 15:22

Shoto Hitbox Case Study

Posted on March 29, 2011 by error1

I’ve always had the impression that Capcom makes hitboxes a little worse in every game. Better or worse, the same moves feel different. To test this, I decided to compare an active frame from Ryu’s forward-jumping roundhouse alongside the first aerial frame of Ken’s fierce Shoryuken in every hitbox-decoded game.

Street Fighter II: The World Warrior
sf2hitbox
Ryu has plenty of red – an invincible leg and an active space extending to his other knee, but has a vulnerable hit box below him. Ken has lots of invincibility and a large attack box.

Tekken Zaibatsu Community Project #2 Trailer

Posted on March 22, 2011 by Maj

The trailer for this year’s Tekken 6 Community Project is out and it looks every bit as hype as you’d expect. Thirty combo makers from seventeen nations across five continents participated!

notes:
Even as a trailer, it weighs in at over five minutes and contains dozens of full combos. The intro is a little too long, but still under a minute which is nice. Further details about the project can be found in its Tekken Zaibatsu thread.
