X-Men: COTA Combo Video Vol.1 by izumojin

Posted on March 19, 2011 by Maj

Welcome to the Wild West of combo videos! X-Men: Children of the Atom was the first Marvel title produced by Capcom, and they clearly had no idea how to balance what they created. The result is some of the most awesomely outrageous combos you’ll ever see in a fighting game.

highlights:
COTA Wolverine practically flying at 0:20, Psylocke Psi-Blast carnival at 0:56, Cyclops doing anything he wants at 2:47, and Storm doing anything she wants at 3:20

2D Fighter Backgrounds Thread on NeoGAF

Posted on March 17, 2011 by Maj

Raging Spaniard started an excellent thread to share and discuss classic 2D fighting game stages, and omni brought it to my attention. It’s definitely worth browsing through if you have a few minutes to spare. The level of detail on many of these is simply astounding.

Favorite Backgrounds in 2-D Fighters? on NeoGAF

Unfortunately, quite a few of the oldschool Capcom backgrounds seem to be missing from the internet. Not to mention, some of the existing rips are static or otherwise flawed.

Someone with sprite ripping experience should definitely consider filling in the blanks and creating a complete gallery archive of these beautiful works, because they’re just plain awesome to look at. Any volunteers?

Grappler Baki Infinite Combos by adakino

Posted on March 17, 2011 by Maj

Well, the good news is that apparently i convinced SNK combo legend adakino to finally register a u2b channel so hopefully that means many more excellent combovids on the way. The bad news is i don’t recognize any of these (hella balanced) games on his channel.

notes:
Has anyone played this game before? A little help please!

It looks like desk only needed one more day to put together a day-two combo video for Jill, and she certainly has some stylish combos. I still miss the old beret-wearing MvC2 Jill though.
