KoFXIII Elizabeth Double DM Tutorial by Dark Chaotix

Posted on August 18, 2011 by Maj

Apparently Elisabeth can combo two Grand Rafale supers in a row in King of Fighters XIII, but the setup is somewhat tricky. Dark Chaotix has prepared a tutorial to explain how it’s done.

notes:
The last hit of Grand Rafale seems to make follow-ups impossible, so the trick is to connect the super at the highest point to make the last couple of hits whiff. This preserves the juggle state created by the earlier hits, allowing Elisabeth to continue the juggle after the first DM.

Farewell Vanilla Marvel vs Capcom 3 by jamheald

Posted on August 17, 2011 by Maj

A second MvC3 farewell video in as many days? Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 won’t arrive for a few months, so vanilla MvC3 isn’t going anywhere anytine soon. But these videos are more about appreciating MvC3 and looking forward to UMvC3 than abandoning MvC3. Keep ’em coming sirs.

highlights:
MvC3 Spencer delayed Dormammu pyrotechnics at 1:13, Dormammu/Trish/Dante tag-team death at 3:20, Haggar/She-Hulk/Viper tag madness at 3:51, Haggar double-tag OTG at 4:22, Jill triple gun twirl at 5:22, and Haggar/Tron/She-Hulk tag circus at 6:10

MvC3 Sentinel Exchange Science by ProzacStylings

Posted on August 16, 2011 by Maj

From a gameplay perspective, Sentinel has always been one of my favorite designs in the Marvel series. It’s great to see the oldschool MvC2 players refusing to give up on him in MvC3 despite the downgrades he’s received through patches and through the new environment.

notes:
This tutorial focuses on Sentinel combos performed during Team Aerial Combo, explaining the hit stun deterioration properties of the TAC mechanic and how to take advantage of them. These combos dish out tons of damage while building crazy amounts of meter.

MvC3 Enter the Storm by FMRoss

Posted on August 15, 2011 by Maj

When the Marvel vs Capcom 3 roster was announced, a lot of people said they were going to have Thor on their main team. Sadly, it didn’t take long for that movement to die down. For those of you who haven’t given up on the Norse God of Thunder, or for those who want to give him another chance, this Storm/Thor/Sentinel tutorial provides an excellent foundation.

notes:
FMRoss makes the case that Storm/Thor/Sentinel is the best team to build around Thor. He outlines basic combos and tactics for each character, alongside various team-order connections between the three. And of course, he includes an extra segment of mixups and tricks for Thor.

Wolverine-Master’s MvC3 Team Combo Video

Posted on August 13, 2011 by Maj

Wolverine-Master plays a somewhat unusual team built around Wolverine in Marvel vs Capcom 3, so people had been asking him about his combos during Evo2k11. He’s put together this quick video to demonstrate some of their options – mainly starting with Wolverine on point.

highlights:
MvC3 Wolverine corner relaunch at 0:28, Wolverine side-switch craziness at 0:40, and Wolverine/Sentinel/Magneto touch-of-death at 1:25

Keyboard Combos II by Maiden Masher

Posted on August 10, 2011 by Maj

Apparently all of the combos in this King of Fighters video were performed on a keyboard, without tool-assistance. The intro and outro are way too long, but otherwise it’s a good combovid.

highlights:
KoF2k1 Leona double Moon Slasher juggle at 0:55, KoF2k2 Mature clones at 1:27, KoF2k2 Blue Mary corner beatdown at 2:20, and KoF2k1 Seth building meter at 2:46
