Marvel vs Capcom 3 Relaunch Project

The category of “relaunch” combos has been around since launchers were first introduced in the Marvel series. Naturally, fighting game designers try to prevent relaunch loops through various game engine restrictions, so it’s always interesting to find a way around those roadblocks. This collaborative video aims to demonstrate a relaunch combo with every character in MvC3!

highlights:
MvC3 Ryu triple launch at 0:28, Deadpool relaunch insanity at 1:32, Dr. Doom foot dive symposium at 3:28, Hulk applause at 3:42, and Hsien-Ko corner exit relaunch at 4:46

Balrog: Behind the Glory Credits Theme and Captions

When Balrog: Behind the Glory was shown at Evo2k11 and released online, there were countless comments asking for the closing song. Well, here’s your chance to add it to your music library!

Balrog: Behind the Glory PosterThe BBTG credits theme is now available on iTunes.

Apparently the submission process took much longer than expected, but it finally went through. The track is a bass-heavy variation on Balrog’s classic theme, and the full downloadable version is 3:21 long.

On another note, the film now has full-length English captions – in adddition to Rioplatense Spanish subtitles courtesy of Keiko and Brazilian Portuguese subtitles courtesy of MWisk. If anyone else is interested in translating the film for your local community, just download the SBV captions file from the Chubby Boy Films website and translate away. It’s a plain-text file that you can open and edit in Notepad.

This will probably be the last round of news updates regarding Balrog: Behind the Glory. Hopefully the CBF crew will have more Street Fighter projects for us to enjoy in the near future.

SSF4AE Project Dolphin CMV by desk and error1

Apparently the story behind the video is that desk’s band Project Dolphin produced an album of arranged video game music called Arrange EP – and error1 helped him put together a combo music video for the last track on the album, which is a medley of Street Fighter IV tunes.

SFIII 3rd Strike Combo Video Roadmap

Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition was released this week as an arcade-perfect port of the original game. Many people are playing 3S for the first time – and wondering what its combo system is capable of. Here’s a quick rundown of the best 3rd Strike combo channels around.

Most of these guys haven’t posted any new videos in a while, but maybe you can help change that by subscribing to their channels and voicing your support!

538 (of the group KYSG) – 538 is basically the TZW of 3rd Strike. On several occasions, other combo makers have had to cancel videos after seeing one of KYSG’s new releases. Every single one of his 3S videos is superb. Start from Vol. 1 and watch as many as you can handle.

rKf – While 538 used programmable controllers, all of the combovids produced by rKf were manually executed. His combos tend to focus on Urien and Dudley, but his later videos contain a much wider selection. Start with Vid No.1 and work your way through the other four.

SlimX – Every oldschool American 3S player recognizes the name SlimX from his awesomely creative and entertaining (manually-executed) videos, released before u2b even existed. Unfortunately he doesn’t have them on his channel, but maybe a few convincing comments will talk him into uploading them. In the meantime, check out his series of Random 3S clips.

Goryus – For those who don’t know, Goryus is the producer of 3rd Strike Online Edition. Before he started working at Capcom, he released a pair of 3S combovids spotlighting Makoto and Gill. After watching Goryus’ Makoto Combo Video, 538 said it covered everything he had thought of, and that he wasn’t going to try making a Makoto video anymore.

SSF4AE Tool-Assisted Guile Combos by error1

Since Capcom reduced Guile’s charge time from 55 frames in SF4 down to 50 frames in SSF4, error1 was able to find a slew of ridiculous multi-Sonic-Boom combos – using the PC version of Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition to employ tool-assistance.

highlights:
SSF4AE Guile mid-combo dash at 0:47, Guile EX Sonic Boom to Flash Kick at 0:55, Guile double Sonic Boom at 1:07, and Guile Sonic Boom x19 at 1:25

MvC3 Peekaboo Glitch Explored by desk

Tekknight found a gamebreaking glitch in MvC3, allowing Trish to trap her opponent indefinitely. He showed it to desk, who has prepared an extensive exploration of various setups and applications. Does this mean Capcom will have to patch MvC3 once again before UMvC3 arrives?

notes:
The exact causes of the glitch are somewhat mysterious, but it seems to hinge on Trish’s assist connecting on the first or final frame of a cinematic super. Check out desk’s notes for more info.
