MvC3 Spencer/Wesker/Sentinel Combos by jamheald

Posted on June 25, 2011 by Maj

This specialized Marvel vs Capcom 3 team combo video showed up on SRK yesterday and it’s pretty awesome for anyone who plays any of the three. There are lots of partical combos starting from each of the three characters on point, and almost all of them end in the opponent dying.

highlights:
MvC3 Spencer/Wesker single-bar air throw death at 0:38, Wesker wall bounce teleport at 2:59, Wesker counter super starter at 4:10, and Sentinel corner throw to double-tag death at 5:14

Every single one of these Super Street Fighter II Turbo screenshots is sure to bring a smile to any oldschool player’s face. While we’ve seen this concept before, it’s never been attempted with such attention to detail. How did Bob Sagat even know that half of these animation frames existed?

MatchVid of the Day: Filipino Champ vs Viscant (MvC3)

Posted on June 22, 2011 by Maj

Viscant is my Marvel tournament hero. To be honest, i haven’t even gotten the chance to watch all of his top 8 matches, but i’m certainly happy with the results. He was definitely ahead of the curve with Phoenix, picking her up before she started dominating indiscriminately.

players: Filipino Champ (Dormammu/Magneto/Phoenix) vs Viscant (Wesker/Iron Man/Phoenix)

observations:
The grand finals set begins at around the 53-minute mark. At this point, the strangest thing about MvC3 is how much of an equalizer Phoenix can be. It seems like no matter how far ahead one player gets, the game always ends with Phoenix vs Phoenix sans assists. My favorite moment happens at 1:03:07, when Wesker manages to convert the midscreen air bullet into a full combo against Magneto’s tag. That probably decided the final match.

MvC3 Phoenix Combo Video by Tsujigiri83

Posted on June 14, 2011 by Maj

Phoenix is the focus of Tsujigiri83’s newest Marvel vs Capcom 3 combovid. Most of these are combos you’ll never see in match play, simply because Phoenix players are so conservative with meter usage. But that only makes her more interesting as a combo video star.

highlights:
MvC3 Phoenix meterless lvl1 X-Factor touch-of-death at 1:15, Phoenix meaty drill launcher at 2:09, Phoenix/Trish/Storm fancy DHC combo at 3:58, and Phoenix quadruple super at 4:49
