Battle Capacity Combo Video by TheGamaniac

Battle Capacity is a new independent fighting game made in 2D Fighter Maker, based on a full roster of characters from the Create-A-Pokémon Project. It functions at its core as a standard 2D fighting game, with many of the conventions we’re used to seeing from Capcom and SNK. This combovid is meant to showcase the overall system and gameplay of Battle Capacity.

highlights:
BCAP Skulloton double-Bonemerang juggle at 2:11, Krilowatt midscreen Zap Cannon setup at 2:32, Cascavian “9000-hit” combo at 3:18, and Cyclohm quad-Twister juggle at 4:01

A little out of the ordinary maybe, but Ivan (the main guy behind the game) sent me this video and i thought some of the combos looked pretty cool, so i figured why not?

This just makes me want an actual Pokémon fighting game all the more. C’mon Nintendo, make it happen!

Until then, I vote “Arghonaut” for best name.

I can provide a little more background to the Create-A-Pokemon (CAP) project if you like: it’s a project that goes along in a place called Smogon, the hub for competitive Pokemon metagaming. Competitive Pokemon varies greatly from other competitive natured games because a lot of it is in simulation and theoretically legal: battle simulators are commonplace around there. Like a Theory Fighter Super Turbo or something. To spice things up, CAP was made to explore new gameplay possibilities and other new concepts in the metagame. It’s like a fun diversion from the main games. Putting them in a fighting game makes it more awesome!

I should also note there is another fan-made Pokemon fighting game, but it’s availability is quite limited as the Japanese webmaster only opens up the demo for download at certain times. The game, ‘Pokemon Type Wild’, can be seen in videos like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcdzhJgsYVA&feature=related

mmm its quite difficult for me to value that combos because i dont know how the game engine works… but the music chosen is great, and welldone edition, simply but clean.

In 1:28 … that was a shrimp combo with a Krautrock BGM??! Wow a nice freak moment hahahaha…
