The person who scores the highest number of points this year will win a prize package containing all sorts of random Street Fighter merchandise. Magnetro and Mike Z were the first and second place winners of last year's contest and you can check out their prizes for an idea of what to expect.

Rise to the top, kick down your address, and you'll receive a whole bunch of cool stuff that'll make you wonder if i've been moonlighting as a janitor at Capcom! I'll take care of shipping costs even if you live millions of miles away!

This year, the top three point earners will receive prize packages. Expect photos of this year's prizes shortly.

Deadline for submissions is midnight PST, December 31st 2009.

On second thought, i don't think i'm gonna mail out the ancient gummy candy that came with the SF 15th Anniversary figures since they are most likely lethally poisonous.

Also the winners are free to trade prizes before i mail them out. So if the second place winner wants that Guile keychain, they can offer something to the first place winner in exchange for it. If you guys reach an agreement, i'll reorganize the packages however you tell me.

Alright seriously, we're two months away from 2010 and this is what the year's point totals look like:

So while everyone agrees that having a challenge board is a charming little feature on paper, it seems like everyone who's active is too busy with real combovids to bother solving any of these puzzles. Which is totally fine, cuz i'd rather see people working on substantial projects instead. Plus i'm still happy with the way this whole branch of sh/f turned out.

But you gotta admit, it is a little ridiculous to spend money shipping out extravagant prize packages for one or two clips. With that in mind, i've decided i'm gonna retract the prizes for this year's competition and instead use them for giveaways on my blog or something. We'll still do a wrap-up at the end of the year and i'll save a couple of small things for first place - the Guile keychain for sure, dunno what else yet. Then next year we probably won't bother with an actual competition at all, though i might still keep track of fake points whenever someone gets bored enough to submit a challenge clip.

What do you guys think? Does that sound fair?
