So, Akuma and Gouken are up officially over at Capcom's site. Yes, Akuma's Ultra II still looks dumb - ESPECIALLY when it K.O.s, as there's no heaven (天) symbol on screen and both characters are just looking dumb as ever.

HOWEVER...after that trademark Raging-Demon K.O. sound, listen carefully to the background noise.

Nah, I mean the Japanese name with Kanji. His "Wrath of the Raging Demon" Ultra I is really "Shin Shun Goku Satsu" or "True Instant Hell Murder..." (common trans.)

I have a lot against it with its input, its goofy looks, the fact that his top half stops spinning while his bottom half evidently continues, the fact that it's not KKZ from SFIII:3S, and I would say lack of practicality, but that would be a bit theory-fighter-ish.

It doesn't. This is a common misconception. He spun that fast to create that slashing vortex thing, that he uses to cut through the opponent. His feet stop spinning as soon as he touches the opponent (he hits them in a way similar to his j.d.MK)

he spins his head as well, but he's appearently godly att keeping at place as long as possible, than spin it around and stop in that same direction. You can see it when it KOs on the japanese page. What Gief does with his head during lariat is just childsplay in comparison.

but yeah i was surprised, he actually looks like fun, even if his second ultra might be a counter...i shouldn't spectate 'til i read actual findings about him.

it's also weird that he's bright red. hope alternate costumes change that, i imagine they'll have little else to change...
