Re: Yo check this out yo

I thought the SF players were just new kid douchebags. Like the kind you see at arcades playing SF4 in Cal--oh wait.

Uh, as a Marvel player, that image is pretty accurate -- but no, i wasn't pressured to join a gang. Maj, did you ever beat IM2 Demo??

Re: Any Advice on Choosing a Capture Card?

You have to make sure your out frequency is something that your capture card can read.

Also, you might have to run SF4 at a lower resolution if you plan on capturing it into the same computer that you're running it from.

The ppad can only be used for parts. I'm guessing the LED isn't one of them.

Re: Basic Combo Video Etiquette

Some 3S video (I think), showed EX/Supers connecting for one hit, then faded out the rest of the super and showed the follow up. THIS VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tVNjNzpVXo RX's awesome PowerStrike, it avoided all the setups that everyone is used to seeing and showed the creative stuff ri...

Re: Basic Combo Video Etiquette

Well it boils down to whether or not you care about what people want. If i were to make a video, I'd skip the 90 second super unless I had a good reason not to. But ultimately, what maj said 3 posts up is universally true: Unless you are a sado masochist, skip ultras once youve used them before etc....

Re: Basic Combo Video Etiquette

Regarding SF4/Anygame with 20 minute supers/ultras

Please do not show the whole ultra more than once per video. It adds around 5 minutes to most videos.

It's ghetto d, I KNOW HOW FUNNY THAT SOUNDS. However, I will testify/swear before a jury that i saw him recording videos which he then put up on that youtube channel. To whoever doesn't know who Ghetto D is, haha.

Re: DVD Authoring Q&A

You can have 60P footage as interlaced, before the DVD I did a test run and it turns out that the encoding program can make it interlaced -- so when I played it on a CRT TV, it looked real smooth, smoother than Joo's final project. So you can choose that route, I think the reason he didnt want to do...

Re: Request Japanese translations here!

Haha, dope. Well, speaking of joo, his site went completely down. The last thing I remember seeing was something that he said about you (Maj). I think he was talking about the 'art' of programming combos and how there are a few people who do that still. He referred to you and then "youtube"...

Re: DVD Authoring Q&A

Yeah, you can include data as long as it's something special for a DVD-ROM. I mean, you can't open it in the DVD player, but someone can view it as DVD ROM content. I don't remember if it requires special formatting. Usually, any dvd authoring prog will let you add that kind of stuff.

Re: DVD Authoring Q&A

Hm DVD bitrate can be from 2mb/s to 8.5mb/s IIRC. If you're going to include your old stuff, you're going to have to upscale it to 720x480 and use a medium bitrate. Now everything has to be in MPEG2 so that it can work, meaning you have to re-encode everything you have again. Ideally, you want every...

Re: Any Advice on Choosing a Capture Card?

Ideally, you want to run SF4 @ 720P which is 1280x720 @ 60fps. If you can do that, then you just have to encode it into H264 or whatever codec you want.

Marvel player Neo MM some guy from FFA at SF4 -- Fanatiq and Neo shit talk sf4 & the guy while the MM is going. It's pretty funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqwmAe5VmIY

Anyway, this is why SF4 players don't like Marvel players.

In the case about 'Why release something in the first place?': I think that releasing something is mostly because you want to have other people know what you discovered and did. I don't know if caring about it falls into the same category as strictly just wanting your finished product out there for ...

Re: Are you self-conscious about your videos?

Well, while joo never released his combos, he put out Vol 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, all of which contained truncated versions of his ideas. ... Does that count? I think the reason the five year thing is so impressive is because he didn't FINISH the whole cast (56 characters/combinations/assists/bugs/etc)...

Dude you can't declare someone the greatest of all time less than a month after they release the best video they've ever made and more or less retire. He claims they're the best MvC2 combos possible and that may be true for some of them, but nobody's had a chance to digest them yet or to try to top...

Re: Are you self-conscious about your videos?

Thanks for merging the thread. It's hard to come across people who will give you insightful criticism or positive feedback. Especially on anything that isn't SRK. That's why I can understand why Joo didn't care about many people watching his DVD, no one is really going to get it, so it doesn't mean ...
