I guess I will just post it in this thread. Years ago I got so many "funny" comments that I did this third strike troll riddle video just to make fun of some, probably one or two here might enjoy it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKNg34GUCEM Nope, what's happening here is parallax error...

Compression should always come last, elseway you will lower the quality of the video with every re-render. Uncompressed recording>premiere(>virtualdub) will deliver the best results; of course only if your PC can handle uncompressed files in Premiere. XviD is the codec which hits a sweetspot between...

Re: Random Obscure Findings
Yep, my words sir. Though, if it's really the lying character moving back and forth while standing up with no active hitbox, e.g. the hk tatsu trick I uploaded should also work midscreen. I will go and check whether there is more cool stuff to find. Edit: Yep, works also outside the corner. https://...

Mhh? Alright, will use Youtube too then:
Akuma SA3 mid-super cross-up
Akuma tatsu wake-up cross-up
Usually you should see a perfectly fine stream on 4shared, but whatever.
Surely the SF4 trick is everything but new, but seems character specific.

Re: Random Obscure Findings
Veeery strange bug regarding Raging Demon in 3S. As you can cancel all frames of a throw into it, I tried to think of something cool in that regard. What I found is this: If you input a throw and the opponent jumps to evade it, you can cancel the throw off its only active frame into Demon and it wil...

Re: Got any Questions about SF3:NG, 2I, 3S, or 3SOE?
During pretty much all of my match sets, I seemingly pulled off, or saw being pulled off, rather hard karas without the intention of doing them. I.e. f.hp kara Power Bomb with Alex. I tried to get to the bottom of this, and found an answer: In several occasions this game forbids you to perform anyth...

Re: Define "Combo"
You are right, I probably tried to simplify it a bit too much. What you described is, which is way easier to define, a reset, in between of the two moves I raised. There are (mainly aerial) reset "combos" in pretty much all fighting games (HnK is an example for not being such a game); but,...

Re: Define "Combo"
Actually, the hits don't have to be guaranteed - like in 10-hit combos or target combos. I'd call those strings, not combos, despite the names. This is the exact point where one may start to differ. How crucial is it that any input actually hits? In fighting games you have the common rule, that att...

Re: Got any Questions about SF3:NG, 2I, 3S, or 3SOE?
To clarify it for real... : There isn't simply one but a crapload of rules for the possibilities of juggling opponents. I will try to list the momentarily needed ones in a logical order. - The "2-frame-rule"; every attack which has 2 frames startup or less (on the needed hitbox) will combo...

Re: searching combos in 'other' games
Bob_Sagat lool. At everyone: Thanks for the replies guys. Actually I'd have liked to say to everyone record now and record hard, but sadly I'm caught in a vortex in real life right now, being forced to drop projects like this one. However, if anyone got/gets excited about this idea, or already works...

searching combos in 'other' games
If not before already, since the release of the Kirby (Return to Dreamland)-combo video some weeks ago everyone should be thinking of doing/searching/recording combos in games which aren't inside the regular beat 'em up/fighting game-genre providing combo videos usually. I'm on my way to gather some...

Well I'm certainly sure that, with all the creative power gathered on this board, a quietly great comedy video could be done; I'll throw my opinion in: I guess everyone knows what was used too often and what's worth to be shown, so I'll just post possible ideas and inspirations: - Not sure if any ot...

Re: SSF4:AE Combo Engine Investigation
@ Doopliss Oh Capcom, I had some nice matches vs a nice player and wanted to record some rounds/clips. Then I admitted that the game slows down while recording, which is NOT the case when you set the framerate to solid... so I checked the options, and it's, indeed, set to solid. I went like wtf. So ...

Re: SSF4:AE Combo Engine Investigation
The shadows never affect neither of Yang's Ultras, his Super has no effect on them unlike Yun's. Why exactly the hits seems to hit quicker I can't answer, probably just a visual placebo; but definitely I can say that the afterimages don't have infinite juggle potential, they have exactly the same ju...

Re: SSF4:AE Combo Engine Investigation
I needed only 1 second to admit how awesomely Capcom has programmed this so called feature "smooth", only 0,002% of my inputs appearing onscreen, which is still a bigger number than GGPO's average. So yes, I'm on PC but with everything set the way to be able to play acceptably. But smoothe...

Re: SSF4:AE Combo Engine Investigation
You can link U2 from c.LK even, if you do it after a jump-in or dash-in. I think you can do it normally on wider characters, and on some characters it might not even work at all. Try MP Palm, FADC, c.LK, U2 on Dan. I see, c.mk xx mp palm xx FADC > c.LK > U2 worked. Thanks for the information. But ....

Re: SSF4:AE Combo Engine Investigation
I found some kind of bug in Yang's U2 animation, I'm not completely sure how to trigger it, being character specific or how exactly this bug even works, but I set it up (1 of 20 times succeeding) by doing s.LP from a certain distance and then U2, and this "setup" results sometimes in U2 lo...

Re: SF3:3S Command Throw Exploration
Yes, they're two different states. Alex's Flash Chop is just kinda special, that you can use command throws after it. A normal throw won't work while the opponent is caught in its hitstun. That some of Alex's attacks work differently when the opponent is facing you with his back is just a feature, b...
