Looking at the sheer amount of creativity that went into crafting the Darkstalkers series, it’s no surprise that so many famous comic book artists credit ’90s Capcom as a major inspiration.
DS Victor’s PPP ES Giga Hammer passes under J.Talbain’s HP ES air Beast Cannon. Talbain isn’t exactly my favorite Darkstalkers character, but his stage background is absolutely gorgeous.
NW Hsien-Ko’s Tenraiha begins dropping spiked spheres while Pyron’s PPP Cosmo Disruption detonates as he adds an LP air Soul Smasher. Hsien-Ko is shaded blue because all characters cycle through a random color spectrum during EX moves in Night Warriors.
VS Demitri’s Demon Billion swarm follows Jedah’s backdash. It’s not very advanced technically, but i like the way it looks. Plus the game is called Vampire Savior, so its two central vampiric fighters deserve to be in the limelight, right?
VH2 Huitzil’s PPP ES Plasma Beam charges up as Anakaris’ air Pharaoh Decoration hovers over Huitzil’s Ray of Doom replica beams. Since Vampire Hunter 2 was only released in Japanese arcades, Huitzil is addressed by his alternate name – Phobos.
VH2 L.Raptor’s Hell Dunk finishes off Rikuo – known as Zabel and Aulbath in Japan. (This was taken in honor of the Los Angeles Lakers winning their 16th NBA Championship by beating the Boston Celtics, with Kobe Bryant receiving his second Finals MVP Award!)
