Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Teaser from TGS

That’s a lot of T’s! So this is actually happening? I like how the Namco logo is represented by Kazuya and Jin punching in each other in the face.

It looks to be very early in development but they already have several intriguing features in place. Tagging seems to give you extended control of the exiting character, as shown with Leo at 0:52. And of course Jin’s throw comboed into Azuka’s throw looks awesome, even if it turns out to be a single move rather than a combo.

it would be absolutely awesome if this game brought back all the characters they have removed like the first tekken tag tournament. i’m still skeptical of this for the same reason i’m skeptical of tekken x street fighter, soul calibur or any 3D game though, i dont like 3D. side stepping is fine, but for some reason i just dont “get” the whole 3D movement thing.

You don’t have to ‘get’ it; I don’t care about it.
…and it’s funny how people keep using the term ‘3D’ when 3D has been in games since the 90s :V

This could finally be Kunimitsu’s return….and hopefully Gon.

Bring back Tekken Volleyball and Bowling please!

  2. Maj says:

Haha you mean like Mokujin/Tetsujin vs Combot/Unknown?

  3. error1 says:

no he means like Jun, Kunimitsu, Michelle etc.. characters who for whatever reason aren’t in Tekken games anymore

  4. n00b_saib0t says:

Yeah, the “real” characters, not the mimmick ones (although I don’t mind their appearance when it doesn’t detract from addting more “real” characters).

My first tekken was tekken 2, I mained jun. I didn’t mind her exclusion (via death) in tekken 3 because jin was basically a clone of her at the time with a dash of kazuya mixed in for awesome, then jun was included in tag and I was estatic. By the time 4 rolled around jin had changed so much and jun was removed permanently, I took up kazuya, but I still didn’t like 3D movement so I never got into 5 or 6 although I have played once or twice.

If jun comes back, I’ll give a jun/kazuya team a go and try to adapt to the 3D thing.

What’s really weird is that they’re going to be working on two tag games at once. We haven’t seen a trailer for Tekken x Street Fighter yet, so does that mean TTT2 will come out before TxSF? Is TxSF coming out much later than we all thought?

  6. n00b_saib0t says:

Did anything actually confirm that tekken x street fighter will be a tag game, or are we just assuming that because street fighter x tekken is? I mean, just because marvel vs and street fighter x tekken are tag doesn’t mean all vs games are tag, look at CvS and SvC. CvS is teams and SvCchaos is 1 on 1.

  7. Maj says:

Since you put it that way, i’m not sure anymore. I can’t remember if there was any official confirmation or if we all simply assumed it from seeing the SFxT trailer. Either way though, isn’t it strange to announce both TxSF and TTT2 back to back?

Although it would be kind of funny if Namco turned TxSF into their “Marvel” game. Superjumping air-comboing beam-supering Kazuya!
