This is why the touhou fanbase is amazing.

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm4680816

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UM7pTUb4k98

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0goAC8fdqIQ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHqQyKt3WIk

Shit like this is made all the damn time.

Like seriously, I could pull up at least a hundred links for touhou related videos all of this caliber. While many of them are "spoofs", quite a lot of them are actually not.

And as far as I know this is all independent fan made stuff, done all for the love of the games and the doujins.

Those look like they took a ton of effort. I don't know what the hell is going on in any of them but i thought the second one was very nicely done, especially if it was made by one person like the "credits" suggest.

Actually, I don't know much about it. But basically here's the gist of what I know (or, that I think I know).

ZUN is the author of the Touhou series, which is basically a series of independently-made (doujin) shmup games. They were all very primitive at best, and the latest titles slightly above primitive, but enjoyable since ZUN's strong point is in good music.

The fanbase for these games randomly decide to do like appreciation promo videos and such. Most of them, like the ones I linked before, are basically like anime or movie openings that have been redone with Touhou characters. So it would be like watching the X-Men cartoon opening sequence except the characters were switched with all the Touhou characters (prof Xavier is totally Yukari).

But then there's also other little "Touhou Project" groups like IOSYS.

I've generally seen IOSYS do things from the ground up and create music and animation from scratch. The ones that are rips of anime openings, I don't really know who does those, though, could be anyone.

However, it's not unthinkable that a single person would create something totally ridiculous like that, as seen in this April Fool's joke:

- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9mVq2kZ9co <-- incredibly ridiculous shit

And then there's other ridiculous stuff that comes out of nowhere like

Whether they are collaborations or independent fan-made stuff is a mystery to me. But I'm pretty sure the second one in my previous post (1000% master sparking) wasn't just one person. The name ZUN keeps appearing because ZUN's like the father of Touhou in the first place.

This isn't technically a combo video

Or is it.

I love it when people somehow find a way to make combo videos despite not having top quality computer hardware, software, editing expertise, or any other common obstacle.

Love the editing in this video but the content is clearly flawed:

mvc2 Cyclops Tricks by Kuwabara, Shin, and Azis

In two of the cases, you can see Cyclops' fist hitting Sentinel whereas the projectile connects in the other two. Hey Magnetro, go drop some knowledge on these fools and help 'em out. Plz don't be mean to them kthx.

Oh my god this shit is hilarious! I can't stop laughing over here.

Obviously the 3S video is kysg's Akuma combovid along with TOSF's Parry Exhibition, but that's not the best part.

The best part is, he wasn't even the one who duct taped them together: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoZBoQ0hRU8

In other ghettofabulousness, i hadn't noticed that kysg performed a 100% damage "combo" involving a juggle reset. It happens at 4:09 against Ibuki. Guess he considers it a combo cuz the first hit of Akuma's ground pound is unparryable, but that's still bootleg.

How is it bootleg, there is no way to escape it. So it "combos" just cause the counter is too stupid to notice kysg's awesomeness isn't his fault.

Alpha 3 Combo Video "Redemptum Mandate" by X-ecutionner and Juice

Check out the V-Gief combo at 5:55 and the following storyboard. This guy is smooth as hell.

Also what's up with the V-Charlie combo at 6:44? How come nobody ever bothers doing that ghetto "infinte" midscreen?

It's not even a bad video overall. We've just gotten so desensetized to repetitive A3 customs that even focusing for longer than a minute is damn near impossible.

He mixed in a lot of valid combos with invalid ones, but only labeled roughly about half of the invalid ones with those storyboard panels.

And the Charlie thing is invalid of course. First of all, Charlie can't avoid a neutral state after his airthrow, so they can airtech any time after he stops his airthrow animation. Second, you can tech-throw the airthrow which causes the juggle to end, so even if you couldn't airtech (you can though) you can still tech-throw any of those and end it anyway. And it only "works" midscreen because midscreen invalids have no juggle limit. It's so beyond invalid it's not really even funny.

Honestly I want to say all of these look really familiar, like he just gathered a bunch of other people's kawaks replays and stuck them in a video, but I can't really say that for sure. I have seen a lot of the invalid ones before though.

Fighter Maker homage to various characters. Not really a combo video, actually pretty well done for FM, but still ghetto.
Is the golden guy based on any actual character? Cuz those are badass moves.
I can't recognize anyone except Jotaro, Slayer, and Akuma, hmph.

How come nobody ever does this for Capcom games?

Shinkodo personal CMV Vol.1

Dude has the intros for every KoF game from '97 to 2002, so the actual combo video portion doesn't start until the 3:33 mark. Awesome!

He's clearly new to this whole editing thing, but i actually like some of the stuff he does. For example, narrowing the screen to Robert's super ender at 4:25 and the K' combo zoom effect at 5:33, especially the way he zooms out while transitioning to the next clip.

Content-wise, i like the Kyo combo at 5:15 because of how far he makes the Rocky assist projectile travel. Anyway i hope he makes more vids.

Apparently the CvS1 Options Mode elevator music contains a sample from a Brazilian TV beer commercial. Guess someone in Japan thought that shit sounded too smooth.

What boggles me the most is the Magneto-combo. I don't really play Mahvel all that much, but it's obvious that the Magneto combo is hundreds of times more complicated than the other 2-punches-into-super combos (or 2-punches-into-super-that-doesn't-combo. Or just a sole super.). I also loved the random super jumps after some combos.

Also: Jin's super looked silly in widescreen.

Yeah you can do a lot worse, but taunting after every combo, and then actually failing to taunt some of the time really took the cake for me. Taunting after each combo is a novice video mistake, but then failing to execute the taunt and leaving it in... it's like a multi tiered mistake!

And no Xeno, that doesn't mean they cancel each other out.

short, jab, short, super = 12 hits.

crossup, mp, hp, fb, super = 12 hits?

Anytime you have a combo in ghetto video where it's not immediately clear whether a jumpin actually linked, there will be an instance where it didn't. Guaranteed. Seriously, never fails.

Telling you that it's called "Street Fighter 4 IV PC - Max Payne 2 Mod - KEN vs MULTIPLE NINJAS" isn't really doing it justice.
