My new combo video. Probably the last one I'll do for SFIV, I'm all out of ideas. SSFIV will hopefully give me some more.

Where should I post this in SRK.com? Should I make a new thread, or is there some combo video thread? I couldn't find one.

Unfortunately that's where SRK sucks. The best thing you can do within the rules is make a post in the Combo Videos thread in Fighting Game Discussion and make a new thread in the Video Gallery forum. You should do both but neither is a great option. Back in the day we used to be able to make new threads for video releases in FGD but that's against the rules now. Though maybe you can get away with making a thread in the main SF4 forum (which is more popular than FGD these days). It might be a good idea to ask a moderator first though.

Great video btw, just finished watching it. Video quality looks good too. My favorite part was the Abel sweep rekka juggle at 0:38. That was too cool. And you got a lot of hits out of Dan's super at 3:18! The most i got was four or five when i was messing around with it.

The only critique i can offer is that you should have made the Dhalsim 2-hit combo more obvious at the end. Either wait until the dizziness wears off so the combo counter appears, or start the combo with blank Attack Data so that it increments to 2 hits when the super connects. It's totally a minor thing but i've learned that this kind of stuff counts a lot toward leaving an impression, especially with casual viewers.

I think the ending made it quite obvious, but yeah, I messed up a little XD I also left attack data on in the bison clip :/

That Dan juggle was very hard to set up, you hade to hit the KRK as meaty as possible for the last three hits to connect.

Oh i think you did a great job with the editing and making it clear that it's a big deal. Like i said, it was a very minor thing. Nobody talks about any of this stuff so i had to learn what little i know on my own, but i think there are subtle things we can do to make videos more ... emotionally satisfying for lack of a better phrase.

Cuz when i saw that clip i had to replay it a bunch of times to see what was going on and still couldn't tell anything from the attack data. Sometimes it's good to make the point extra obvious. And other times it's good to hide something. In this case, the "2 Hit Combo" message would have been like a giant "Mission Accomplished" banner, you know? Sometimes that's needed for that extra 1% connection. That's all i'm saying.

Really good video though. Good choice speeding through the Abel ultra. And i think you showed every Honda combo possible, haha.

Yeah, I had someone saying that "If i saw 1 more honda butt splash I was gonna cheese grate my **** off".

And I thank you for the tip. In the original clip, I did lv. 3 FA -> Ultra -> b.HK after stun, but that got lost in transition when I re-recorded it in better quality.

It is kinda sad that EX drop doesn't connect on the way down if you juggle with the rising hit. Guess that means the first hit isn't a free juggle setup.

Yes, but the first hit does more damage than the 2nd, so that's something.

Nice work. I was really surprised at the Cammy stuff, I main the character and didn't even know you could do c.HP, c.HP or c.HP, dp+K. Thanks for opening my eyes . Other combos I thought were particularly special were the Abel rekka sweep into ultra, the Chun Li combo, Dan's meaty Koryuken into super juggle and the Rose vs Gouken reflect stuff. Video quality looks fine to me and the choice of music was decent too.

Also I was curious if there was a reason you did a s.HP after the opponent lands in the Dan combo with EX air qcb+K into j.MP? It seemed kinda out of place since it didn't lead into anything, I was expecting a meaty combo or something.

I did it ny mistake, but I though "it looks like a decent reset", so I kept it. Maybe that wasn't that clever, but whatever. It's Dan, he can do stuff without reason :3

The Cammy stuff is character specific though, except maybe the c.HP -> c.HK.

Sorry dude, i doubt i'm gonna have any external video responses attached to the Evo Ryu vid. Plus at this point everyone has already seen the Ryu vid so it probably won't break 10k views. But if you want, you can post it as a response to Fun With SF4 vol.1 cuz they're way more related anyway.

Yup. Why wouldn't you? It's extra work but it's worth it. As long as you don't go too far with spam, it doesn't bother anyone and it'll make everything easier / less frustrating in the future when we don't have SF4 winning GotY awards. Video responses are a good way to get extra viewers; even u2b recommends doing it. You just gotta find the right video - popular and relevant.

I've noticed that posting comments on people's channels works too. But it takes a surprisingly long time with strangers because you gotta watch enough for their videos to say something non-lame. A few weeks ago, i went through my entire friends list and posted channel comments everywhere that i hadn't already posted them. It was all strangers since i had already made some dumb joke on most of my actual friends' channels, so it took like three days, but i ended up getting like 50 subs out of it. Every little bit counts, right?

So yeah, there's lots of friendly ways to get views/subs without asking for them or annoying anybody.

Was surprised you didn't use Abel's Second Low into Super...All of CoD is very weird.

I was wondering why you EX CoD to absorb a hit, then finished the CoD, then did Falling Sky after CoD ended naturally. Instead of armor cancelling (kara) CoD~FS.

Um, maybe i'm misunderstanding the question, but wouldn't you miss a hit doing that?

I was going for an armor cancel at first, but I can't pull them off D; But yeah, you lose a hit from that.

And I didn't even think about the fact that you could cancel 2nd low with super XD

EDIT: It didn't work, as I expected. Abels super doesn't juggle D:

Falling Sky is 1-5F inv but 6F startup, so it should lose to moves with enough active frames like light attacks, right? The point of the armor cancel would then be to absorb a hit with EX CoD thus neutralizing the jump in attack and grabbing with EX FS. It isn't a combo but I think it's a nifty little gimmick. You're basically loaning the armor to FS which doesn't normally have armor (and should lose to beefy jumpins).

I could see an applicable use for it in situations where, for example, Akuma does an obvious divekick which would normally beat EX FS but would get neutralized by armor cancelling EX CoD into FS.

Yeah. If you notice, you don't lose any Super Meter when you do it, which means you have to cancel it BEFORE the Super Meter registers as being used up... which means it happens pretty damn fast. ^_^

Hm, maybe they have different rankings for each country because the first things to show up when i search for those phrases are that garbage ultra compilation, the interactive action figure game, and a Jackie Chan clip. Looks like all the honors for your video are from Sweden too, so that's probably where most of your views are coming from.

That won't work. You should be able to do vipers without trading. In fact meaty far hk->ultra should be doable. The hard one is Rufus, your going to have to trade with it and even then the opponent will be pushed to mid screen making it hard to continue.

Looks really good. I like that midscreen EX stomp followup to EX Scissor Kick combo and the Fei Long combo you mentioned looks dope too.
