Assistance and Collaborations

In short, I'd like to propose a thread where we can openly request content from one another for projects we're working on, abandoning, or are struggling with.

This would give us a chance to finish projects that we might otherwise not. Or even to improve the quantity/quality of content simply because we have more people working on a project that can assist in various ways.

But I'd also like to suggest something else. In addition to this, I'd like to propose that this thread be used as a relay for projects we find elsewhere. In other words, if anyone happens to discover any ongoing projects that are at a standstill or appear to be open-invitations to collaborative efforts, then it'd be cool if the information is passed along here for anyone that might be interested.

I apologize, this is a concept that Maj and I had discussed in private quite some time ago, but I haven't had cause to post about it personally (and I was secretly hoping he would post it himself). But, now I do.

So to kick off the thread, what I'm personally requesting is anyone that is interested in helping me complete my abandoned Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Rubber.Soul video. I have no intention of completing it myself, so if some one would like to work with me on finishing it then it'd be much appreciated. I have the most difficult link combos and crossup combos recorded already, so (un)fortunately all that's left is the basic/mid stuff.

If no one expresses interest then I'll just post the content here, as much as I've done, and be done with it.

Of course, I assume we'd all give credit where credit is due, unless specified otherwise by the parties involved. Thanks.

It's a good idea. I'll try to help with what I can but a lot of you guys play games I can't pronounce, so I'm limited.

I think I'm going to need help finishing a *GASP* Street Fighter 3: Third Strike - Fight for the Future Alex Tutorial Video

The idea was to do 2 different videos, is the one I linked where it shows basic stuff and tactics.

The other one is going to have a narration cause it's a video about not using stungun headbutt and when to use his regular headbutt. Tho the first one is so old we still have some footage that is going to be taken out.

Anyway, the first one is definitely the most time consuming, though it's the most fun to make by far. I'd probably need insight to 3S from someone that knows the game, Sorry i'm not being very specific, I'll post more stuff later on if there is interesting from people that don't drive me batshit insane *COUGH*

Sweet, glad to see this thing getting off the ground. Not sure how much/often i'll be able to contribute since i'm strictly middle-tier in this forum's official editing rankings. But i'm definitely looking forward to both projects mentioned above.

My word, the editing in that Alex video is thoroughly enjoyable. It's hard to read everything because the text disappears so fast, but i think it would add to the fun if the text was onscreen only barely long enough to read. Some of that stuff is definitely way too short though. Part of the problem is that the human brain recognizes words by shapes so familiar words are much easier to read quickly.

Since you've been working on the video and have memorized most of the text, you're no longer qualified to judge whether "Mollywhop Accordingly" is displayed long enough for the average person to read for the first time (probably ever). So my advice is, before you release the video, show it to a bunch of people for the first time and ask them to tell you which storyboards they weren't able to read in time.

Not sure if it was intentional, but there are a couple of typos too: stomache (stomach), loves (love), lathargic (lethargic), exemplory (exemplary)

Yep. It's fun to edit the video and the quick frame of text before attack happened was to be funny. Tho the sucky thing is that it's not close to being finished and we rushed most of the title cards. The guy that is supposed to be directing the content of the video seems to not want to do it most of the time so there isn't much that was done and most of the title cards are place holders. We were going to change the words around or replace them completely -- hopefully. Also, since it's going to be old-timey, we were thinking of spelling words differently, like shoppe instead of shop so to goof around it'd be choppe instead of chop. =/ You get the idea. I guess we shoulda done that 100% of not at all lol. But again it was kinda rushed so the finished product should have proper misspellings.

I have a ... friend ... who was working on a group project revolving around air throws. My ... friend ... was saddened to see interest fizzle out until the whole thing was completely forgotten. Although he hasn't told anyone, this ...... friend ... still secretly hopes to see that video completed and released one day. Do you guys have any advice for my ......... friend ...?

(only joking)

I'd like to capture an XSF screenshot of Rogue using Charlie's stolen power opposite another Rogue using Cammy's stolen power. Problem is, you gotta take turns kissing Charlie and Cammy with Rogue's Power Drain. Tagging out resets Rogue's stolen power, so it seems only one Rogue can access it at a time. Any ideas?

umm could you somehow do that make your own double super glitch, and then somehow make sure both rogues grab the correct person? or you might be able to have the first rogue grab cammy's power. Then swap cammy out for the other rogue, then, you have the rogue who just stole cammy's power, do a team super with a charlie who has just enough life left to get killed by rogues super. You super jump to avoid the supers (i think charlies is a flash kick so be careful) then right as charlie is landing before rogue swaps herself out kill him with the kiss super!

Rogue's Variable Combination super is those rushing punches, so you can't have two Rogues doing the kiss super. Even if you could, how would you get both of them on the screen again to use their stolen powers?

Also when someone does a double team super, the character that comes out can't be thrown and can't be comboed. If you hit them with the kiss super, it connects once then they fly out and Rogue stops after the first hit.

Well for the first one, thats why you use the create yoru own double super glitch... the one from nki's video. I thought that allowed you to use any super?

For the point character, yeah. The secondary character still does their default Variable Combination super, which in Rogue's case is the rushing punches.

My brain teasers have toughness like the new Lakers! We're about to have an 82-0 season. Yeah man don't be expecting us to fold like last year.

Bynum!

Toughness!!

Does countering out or double-supering out reset it also? I know they forget to reset all sorts of stuff with snaps in MvC2, maybe this is similar? Or a double super then hit Rogue so she leaves, they probably missed that case if anything.

No luck with any of that stuff. I don't think it's a "reset" per se because i actually think XSF likes me since i have never given it an excuse to be such a jerk to me. I think XSF genuinely wants to help me out, but simply forgets Rogue's past whenever she leaves the screen.

Moved this thread out of the Resources and Guides forum because it has a better chance of being active here. Plus the Resources forum was intended to serve as more of an archive of dead reference threads which contain valuable information, but are unlikely to host further discussion because there are no more unanswered questions left.

Could some one record a short clip of:

1) A recording of a person playing on a custom stick, showing their hand movements. Preferably battop US layout but balltop JP is fine too. Game doesn't matter so long as there's random activity. Preferably with one example of drumming and another example of piano'ing but whatever is fine too.

2) [edit] nevermind I can record #2 myself.

I'm going to record myself playing clawstyle on a sata pad for the sake of reference. And I'm also likely to include some things regarding why thumbs are unable to hit vertical/horizontal simultaneous inputs, but fingers can. Plus the aforementioned clips.

And yeah I don't have any specific purpose/reason for doing this.

Sorry sir, i don't have any of the necessary ingredients. In fact i don't even have a non-custom stick at the moment. There are a lot of tutorial videos on u2b that demonstrate how to perform combos like Magneto infinites and Yun customs. If you find one that suits your needs, i'm sure you can get permission from the author to use it for whatever you need.
