Anyone tried SSF2T: HD Remix beta?

Has anyone else tried the ST:HDR beta? The graphics look much better in motion than i could have hoped, but the experience as a whole is not for me. One in every three or four matches is lagfest 2008. The random crashing, the waiting periods between matches, and the Ken win button don't bother me nearly as much as the skippy. I've had quite a few good game experiences over the past two days but the stress far outweighs the pleasure.

We're talking about pure ST Shoto vs Shoto here! This beta coulda been the single greatest competitive game of ALL TIME! Sadly the networking engineers of the world have let us all down. I'll still buy the full game for training mode but i'm done with this online nonsense.

... Right after i break into the Remixed Weekly Top 100, haha.

Plus all of the gamertags i wanted were taken - Maj, Majestros, Sonic Hurricane, sonichurricane, etc.

Thieving bastards.

edit: Ok i was at #88 Remix Weekly then i won a match which put me at #85, then got disconnected which knocked me down to #90, which translates into #178 Remixed All Time. Haha i see Goryus at #172.

Jeez, how much juggle potential does Ken's MP DP have? I've gotten three of them to combo (with corner assist). Four hits almost always dizzies so i've never gotten past five hits to see whether the sixth would connect. Still, five hits equals a juggle potential of four! What was Sirlin thinking?

Plus Ken still has his post-KO repeatable MK fancykick glitch, even in HD Remix mode.

ken's dps (strong and flamey) can juggle for 5 hits, don't know how many hits of juggle potential that is. One hit puts them in a jugglable state then you can hit them 4 more times (not including a super) After that they won't hit. Unfortunately it's almost impossible to test this as you will always dizzy or kill the opponent before you have the chance. Double fierce srk in the corner shows that this is true though. They just applied sagat's dp rules to ken. Which, as we've seen, was a terrible, terrible idea.

Goryus brought this up in another thread and it raises some questions: SFII Beta Patch In Action!

Once the patch is released, how will we be able to access the initial release version? I'm sure some of us want to keep doing goofy Ken combos forever. If i save a copy of STHD on an Xbox 360 memory card, will i be able to play it afterwards? Does the beta require an online Xbox Live account in order to open?

Seriously, what happens in September? It wouldn't surprise me if the beta's online features were deactivated, but we'll still get to play it locally right?

Yes, you'll still be able to play it locally. And you can avoid the patch by never booting it while connected to the network, as it will prompt you to download the patch on boot if there's a network connection available.

If you have an Xbox 360 memory card, you might wanna download the current version onto that. The very first day i got access to the STHD beta, i downloaded it onto both my memory card and my Xbox 360 hard drive. Honestly i'm not even sure if the memory card version will work on its own, but i'm not going to check because i quite enjoy this soothing sense of security.
