Fucking rekkas. And cr.lp.So I've been recording this comb with fei long, which is pretty hard for my hands. It ends with cr.lp xx rekka x3.After 2 effin hours of recording, i finally reach the rekkas part.what happens?FUCKING LAST REKKA DOESNT COMBO.I have insane luck and get there again after 5 minutes.SAME FUCKING THING.It just doesn't want to combo. It's like El Fuerte's target combo, where it doesn't combo, but it must, to end the combo, but it technically can't.Also sometimes the cr.lp JUST DOESN'T CANCEL!!! And no, I'm not chaining it.It has some 1-frame links, and retarded chancels( because hes fei long and chicken wing motion is retarded) but that's not what annoys me.I like that kind of challenge. But when the last hit just DOESN'T FUCKING combo after 2 hours,I'm pissed. So there is no way i can record the combo, and it can't be accepted with the last rekka being blocked, obviously. So i say fuck this shit, it's not worth it.Fuck SF4 and it's fucking rekka bullshit.
(Sorry for language but I'm pretty pissed, my controller fully agrees).

Haha, man i've been were you've been... With fei to. But i think you'll stick it out. You're vids are great,& this kind of thing happens on occasions.

That said, how are you doing his Rekkas? I promise you that is one time where alot of people mash it out, whenreally it's somewhat like Gens Gekiro, you want to play with smooth motions. Mash it out & see how long it is before you miss a link... Do it smooth, which really isn't that hard & it glides nearly effortlessly.

Are your fingers blistered yet or are you playing stick :P

The problem is the effin crouching jab.It sometimes doesn't cancel. He does cr.jab, waits forever, super, although having NOT inputed more than a QCF.It's really pissing me because of things i DON'T tell him do to.I mean it's one thing when I miss the 1 frame link, and a whole other thing when i do 270 and get REVERSE DRAGON PUNCH instead of chicken wing, which ACTUALLY has that motion.

Edit:If anyone cares, what I'm trying to do is: J.whatever mp xx chicken wing ~ HP xx chicken wing ~ cr.lk xx st.jab ~ cr.jab xx rekka xx rekka xx rekka. It shouldn't be that hard to execute, but for me it's fricking impossible. The last part I just cannot pull it off and it makes me hate/quit SF4 and rage/scream/break things.

Partially down to the shortcuts... i mad EX Flame come out a few times, had more trouble with the move not coming out period though..

I'm pretty sure his Crouch Jab has a really small cancel window.

When that kind of thing happens to me, i usually just do some relaxed combos in the training room for about 5-10 mins just to ease tension... My personal mess around ones are BAlrogs EX upper combos & Ryu/Akuma trial style, nothing to strenuous, just to relax yourself before you go at the hard combos you do for vids etc.

Hell i swear sometimes i play for a prolonged period i get worse. like an hour in to trying to get a combo i realise i'm not even timing links right. Just try & relax as best you can... That said everyone has there own techniques

I will not try it anymore.I'll go insane or murder someone.Do not want that to happen.I have to keep myself mentally healthy to be able to work on the projects of the EVO vid.On a more cheerfully sidenote; check the home page of SRK tomorrow.I have been chosen for "What's on your mind" and take a pic on myself using the bathroom mirror, lol.It didn't come out that good, but whatever.

That's how I feel right now, but I wont let this combo beat me. If it so takes tomorrow as well. And I have a lot of homework.

Nah i wouldn't get anything unless someone has tested it and can vouch for frame accuracy. Different companies have made cheap ones over the years and most of them don't run at 60fps so you can't even do 1-frame links under ideal conditions half the time.

I mean, i get plenty frustrated with program pads too, but at least i know it's because i'm challenging the game's peak capabilities instead of messing up on my own. But i don't know, i just make combovids for the end result. It's pretty rare for me to enjoy the process regardless. Except for those moments when a video finally comes together conceptutally and i start to know exactly what each combo is going to look like. Getting over that hill is cool.

Yeah like obscure analog games, or when i have to prove a point, or sometimes just to show that i can.

I'm doing better with the sakura combo now, I get to s.LK more often. But c.LK -> s.Lk is what seperates the men from the boys.

And Pokey, I already have a 15-hit Seth Up, and a 15-hit Gen sitting on my PC :P

Ah, so the fun with SFIV vid was non tool assisted i had no idea. & everytimes i see it, i always love that long range FA 3 -> Super -> Ultra with gen, brings back all the memories of getting Super'd during my shitty air fireballs with gouki.

& i don't understand, that point where you proving in the prove a point video?

Doopliss, you pwn, has anyone ever told you that? I know it gets thrown around alot, especially on the net, but i really mean it this time.

---

speaking of Seth... Outside of infinites, whats the longest Combo possible in the game, i would presumeSeth would take it, you can get 62 without much effort, i doubt Akumas loop could be abused enough to break it. & with a bit of extra effort i think i could probably get 63.

If you do his Hyakaretsu interrupt does it still count as 17 hits? if so then hitting 3 of them in one combo would almost seal the deal.

Yeah, Fun w/ SF4 was done on a standard PS3 pad because i wanted it all to be stuff that people could try in Training Mode themselves, or better yet improvise on. That Fuerte combo was a huge pain in the neck though.

And a lot of people were saying that oldschool Ryu challenge couldn't be done without tool-assistance.

Just saw it sir. Very nicely done. Although believe it or not, that's actually 16 moves because FADC counts as a move (as long as you don't already have a Focus Attack in the combo already). Nobody's figured this out yet, cuz i haven't seen one solution with a whiffed move so far.

There was one u2b comment asking about Abel's roll, but i waited a while to answer it and nobody's traced it back yet, haha.

The crazy thing is, i don't even know how to judge Gen because technically stance change is listed as a move on his command list. But it's iffy because you never actually see it happen during combos. And i already had to make a clarification about his upkick. Guess i'll just deal with it when it happens.

I guess my 15-hit combo just became a 10-hit combo then XD

What about Seths suction thing then? technically it's not really a hit... & does that mean whiffed moves count as moves?

I always wondered that... i mean if someone questions it in my video that it's BS or w/e (Which happened occasionally in DMC) i was never bothered, because I know i did it. That said if i used TA's, though i am generally not majorly concerned with how people think of me, i would have a slight worry that people presume you are some piss poor player who relies on TA to show videos.

I'll admit i originally thought that video was just messing around with stuff that didn't make the cut for your standard videos. Now that you've said it's not Assisted i kind of look at it through a different viewpoint.

That's funny, cuz i was thinking of adding "except for Hard Mode attempts" but decided not to at the last second. But you can just write something in the description if you want, like "this counts as a Hard Mode entry under a strict interpretation of the original rules."

EX tanden is a 0 damage hit, normal Tanden is a 0 damage grab. 0 Damage moves doesn't affect the combo meter in SFIV, but they are there (for example, First hit of Blanka's Ultra and suction part of EX Galactic Tornado)

I guess I'll do that. I just need to record some more solutions though, because uploading them all one by one will mess up my channel.

Eh, i don't care that much. If i did, i would've put up a big "Not Tool-Assisted" disclaimer in that video. But like i said earlier, if i wanted to prove my execution, i feel like i'd have to do it in a tournament setting.

Actually what i care about most is saving my free time for projects and such, so having a couple of non-tool-assisted combovids on my channel is nice, just so can point to them and say "if you don't like TACVs, just watch these." Saves me the trouble of having to discuss something i don't care about discussing. Same thing with that CvS2 Guile Tactics vid. The best thing about that is i can just point to it and say "if you want strategy, just watch this" whenever someone says some dumb shit about my combos not being practical.
I'll admit i originally thought that video was just messing around with stuff that didn't make the cut for your standard videos. Now that you've said it's not Assisted i kind of look at it through a different viewpoint.
Nah it was just something new and different to try. At that point i'd never experimented with over half those characters. All i started with was that one Sagat combo which i happened to find while i had him selected as a dummy character for a combo that wasn't working. So like 90% of those clips were original, not leftovers.

I really don't have time to experiment with any characters that i'm not working on for TACV's. Plus i got into SF4 a lot later than everyone else cuz i was working on that Evo Ryu vid. Believe it or not, i still haven't programmed a single SF4 Guile combo.

Funny, i think we all care about slightly different things. I mean the same general thing but slightly different versions or interpretations of it. It's cool though. Variety is the spice of combos, right?

you said "combo ten or more different moves" if it doesn't add to the combo meter then does it combo? I don't think so

Re: SF4 Biweekly TACV Series

It's just semantics. You'd consider them part of the combo, right? Phrase it slightly differently and it sounds right. "Perform ten different moves in a combo" was too many words and i was trying to keep it concise. Not to mention, trying to avoid giving it away. Anyway if someone submits something cool, i'll accept it. No sense in pretending that my puzzle construction is flawless. There are bound to be exploitable loopholes no matter what i do.
