That ken combo was totally, a manual maximum spider 5 side changes and the bonus point. haha. Same with the strider combo, but no bonus point.

You're referring to the XSF Ken combo at 15:39? I liked it but i don't think it would have counted cuz it uses dizzy. It's too easy to abuse that much free time, cuz if we allowed it then people could just cause a dizzy, air dash back and forth a bunch of times, and still continue the "combo."

There were definitely a couple of things that i really enjoyed in the video, especially hits 94-102 of the double Ken combo at 3:03, the R.Mika setup at 8:47, and that last whiff divekick in the MSF Cyber Akuma combo at 13:52.

yeah, well you should allow dizzy if its not abused... cause I mean in xvsf dizzying people is tooo easy. I'd say since it wasnt really abused it should count... but uh who cares.

It's harder to redizzy though, right? If that's the case then why not dizzy before starting the combo? Everyone does XSF combos using emulators these days, so it should be cake to dizzy then save state and work off that. At the very least, it looks cleaner than having a giant gap in the middle of the combo. Allowing dizzies would break a lot of otherwise interesting combo challenges.

Something funny i forgot to mention earlier - there were three or four grumpy comments about that video on CV, along the lines of "this video contains nothing new" and such, but in typical CV fashion they were all promptly deleted. Pretty good way to encourage discussion, right?

Crazy. Do they have gameplay videos yet? The charcters designs look like they'd be comic book heroes in an Invader Zim cartoon.

None of the things they're looking for are skills i've got, but i probably wouldn't have any time for it regardless.

These days "independent project" basically translates to XBLA/PSN download, right?

Most of the stuff in this video is plain and basic but it's still cool to see a decent-sized Hyper Fighting combovid.

StreetFighter II' Turbo (All character exhibition) by vaniras

It does contain one thing which i don't understand. At 4:09, Guile does meaty LP Sonic Boom, whiff B+MK knee, Sonic Boom, c.MP xx Sonic Boom which shouldn't be possible due to charge time limitations. I'll have to look into it next time i'm messing with HF.

SFA Dramatic Battle combo by agito and skz6000r

Fairly generic mashing throughout the whole clip. But then at the very end, a stroke of genius strikes!

!!!! Why have I only just realised that A1 dramatic battle mode features a big CPS2 arrangement of '恋しさと せつなさと心強さと' (final battle theme from the japanese SF:movie).

here's the proper song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHdhn3iPVf8

and here's something else that's awesome:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJZiOyfaxc8

is that in the US version too? The game disc plays all of the tracks in a cd player but I can't find that one anywhere :(

New SFA3 match videos available at a-cho. Check out the first video. Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on at 4:17? I thought corners had built-in safeguards against button mashing special move infinites.

Hmm, that's strange, it doesn't look like he's being hit out of a roll. It uncombos (counter resets) but I don't see any roll frames. And he couldn't be tech-flipping since Blanka doesn't come out of electricity (plus he'd have some invulnerability time).

I dunno, my guess is it's a roll attempt because it uncombos, but I can't account for the height (though the hitspark is on the ground). And my guess as to why he was rolling is because he would have risked getting GC'd on wakeup unless he drained the elec's duration down.

[Edit]: I'm sure I've probably mentioned it, but DARK has been keeping a youtube vlog of A-Cho casuals for some time now, where you can see all the A-Cho regulars. Incidentally, he doesn't post the players' names for casuals, but you can mostly tell who they are by playstyle, since they're basically the only group left in Japan that plays A3 at the level that they do. I also managed to discover his blog where he regularly updates with A3 related notes (in Japanese of course). Which I stumbled on because he embedded and analyzed one of my vids (u2be tracks places that embed your vids).

New combo video posted on CV ...

Legends II by SFTeam

Good video with clean editing. These guys have been making decent-but-not-great videos for years now. They've cultivated a reputation of recycling super basic SSF2 combos for like twenty minutes at a time. Luckily, they finally seem to be running out of basic stuff to show and this time is different. Their overall quality control has improved significantly, thanks to relatively short segments devoted to each game. They've brought their usual ratio of filler down to reasonable levels, with the exception of that one MSF Zangief combo that gets shown twice, but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt and call that an editing oversight.

Highlighs include the A2 Akuma combo at 0:47 where he Teleports behind Rolento and does a backwards c.HP attack, probably due to the fireballs making Rolento lean way back. Also i like that A2 Ryu combo at 0:52 where he follows air Hurricane Kick with j.MP to juggle. I almost captured that combo myself, but went with a more expandable setup in the end.

The ST Guile combo at 2:50 is really kinda clever too, if only because Blanka hates being comboed by standing jabs. To get around that, they used low jabs instead and had to link two of them together in order to cancel into Sonic Boom.

It's probably a good idea to watch it in VLC MP because WMP will gradually desync audio repeatedly.

It's almost completely meaningless if you haven't seen us live and don't know our tracks (no one does) but I'm posting it anyway, lol. Every piece of BGM is one of our real life tracks, just all 'videogamed' up.

[GOF match] japanese tournament 26/1/2008 (1/5)

I've never heard/seen of this game before today. But apparently the only console that had it was Saturn. It seems to have 2-character tagins, assists, stomps, doublejumps, airthrows, parries, dead-teammate-body-toss, charge moves, dash moves.

And that's just what I could spot from watching, who knows what else it has.

In fact i think his current sig banner features the scandalous chick from that game in her standing animation. Don't expect a Sega Saturn game to suddenly become popular anytime soon, especially if it's that creepy-looking.

For anyone who hasn't checked SRK front page lately, the new Evo DVD Trailer is out.

It was inspired by the Nike Sparq Training commercial, which you might not have seen if you don't watch much sports on TV.

Also, adakino has been releasing quite a few random combo videos for KoF98UM, Garou MotW, and even Arcana Heart:

JChen did a great job on the trailer again. But I don't think anything will ever live up to the glory of the evo2k5 trailer

Yeah they announced that a while ago. It's basically on the same level as SFEX training mode challenges, except with a few random things thrown in like Bison's s.HP xx Teleport for no reason whatsoever. Still very much a welcome addition, but hopefully they'll put together more practical strategy-oriented challenges in the future.

In other SF4-related news, this shit is goddamn hilarious:

Madcatz F*ckstick by lordofultima

Apparently, the cheaper version of the FightStick uses cheap MadCatz parts instead of the premium Sanwa parts of the Tournament Edition FightStick. This is like a video log of this guy's perilous journey through the inner microverse of consumer dispair. It is awesome.
