u2b runs a little under 30 fps. Maj had a lot of trouble getting Zangief Throw Exhibition to look right on u2b because the screen shake after a throw goes away at 30 fps

I could swear I saw a 60fps video on his account somewhere. What about this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5NyiGU5EOg

Isn't 60fps reserved for only the highest resolution HD quality vids? Even my Evo Ryu vid HD remake skips frames, which you can('t) see when SSF2 Ryu whiffs jabs.

Well, it could also be that his account is special, since I've seen him post hour-long videos before. And that's due to him having an old directors account. I know I've seen a 60fps vid on that account, but I don't remember which video.

no that one is around 30 too. This one runs at 45 fps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQAmbTEOJG8. I would be very surprised if any video got above that but it makes me wonder how you get to 45fps

Hey Maj, didnt you say that comment in youtube vids are beneficial to the ranking of your vid in searches? Or was it just the voting / viewing part?

They count everything. I don't know what matters most, but every factor that shows up in stats also counts towards search rank.

I don't think there's any way for us to control what shows up under "Related Videos" but i noticed that for the first two days my Rose TACV was up, the only video listed was Remxi's Rose misc. combos. At the beginning it was around 940 views and now it's at 1555, which is reasonable considering how many views came from embedded players and how few people actually got as far as the Rose TACV's individual page on u2b.

But now that the "Related Videos" section has filled out, Remxi's Rose vid is the 18th item listed (under various America's Funniest Home Videos clips and Willy Wonka cover songs). I really wish there was some way to veto some of this stuff. Some of it really bothers me and i hate to think that watching my videos is causing people to lose brain cells when they glance slightly to the right.

Sucks that we can't make this happen more often outside of pure luck with good timing.

Related videos are effected by tags. For example, some dude wrote "penal examination" or something in his tags for some YTPMV, and I think you can guess what all the related videos was...

And when I forget to change mine, so they're called by their default name, the related videos are videos with the same default name.

In my case tags dont affect nothing. At a video i first had the tags "vega barcelona attack grab juggle combo scarlet terror bloody high claw kick punch super ultra" and had just a video regarding some weird stuff as a response.I then changed the tags to "vega juggle combo" and had the exact same response, and only it.

Did you change the tags after the video was uploaded? It seems that the tags you have when the video is uploaded have the biggest impact.

Yes after.I had to delete it and upload again ,and after this because it had "kick " and "barcelona" in the tags the responses were footbal related containing FC Barcelona matches or and even with a football player called Vega lolz.So i deleted it AGAIN and reuploaded, because changing the tags did nothing.Fun times.True that it only has like 40 views and it wasnt worth the effort, but it was a little thing that really bugged me.

what about the featured video tag? One of my friends old combo video has that when you look on the sidebar of the page.

could that be the same as partnered?

I think u2b tends to feature partner videos but not always. It's based on search results so sometimes they have weird categories where they can't find much to feature so they just put up whatever. But why don't you ask him directly? He probably knows if he's making money or not.

So I'm thinking of signing up to make it easier to share my clips. But I'm concerned about the video quality, especially framerate. I need the embedded video to have the same framerate as the source.

If youtube can't do this I have no problem using a different service. I don't care about views or ratings or public comments. I just want to be able to post high quality embeds.

Ideas?

If you find a better option please let us know too but as far as i know they're all crap in terms of framerate.

all my videos are in 50 the fps range and for the resolution I've seen up to the 1080p range. So you might loose some frames but if you give it an encode it likes you probably won't notice the difference.

out of curiousity using standard html code and an asx file extention (similar to asf, its what acho used to use when it streamed videos), couldn't we make our own streamed video site with full framerate etc? I had looked into it years ago back on my geocities site, but thats since been closed down so I don't even have the html code for it anymore.

Heck we could encode it directly to flv but with the desired framerate and embed that on a webpage... problem is that the bandwidth for that would be through the roof and could be costly to pay for it...

Re: Everything YouTube

I think Preppy was considering that for a minute too, but the bandwidth issue is insurmountable. If u2b can't figure out a way to make it work without losing millions of dollars daily/weekly then i don't like our chances. Besides, if we're gonna host videos ourselves, why not just make fools download it?

Streaming is only good for being lazy and watching a video without downloading it. I don't even think framerate is that critical most of the time, except for those cases where something really annoying happens. Otherwise there's no point because it's not like you can watch frame by frame anyway, right?

Re: Everything YouTube

I definitely agree, especially for s-rank combos that require the opponent to be in a specific position for them to hit the right way etc... it really would be best to watch that frame by frame in MPC or something.

For youtube, I'm sure they can do it, they just don't want to be bothered to. At the end of the day it all is dependant on their settings for video file conversion from whatever we give them to their flv codec. So as long as the codec supports it, there shouldn't be a problem.

That's a good point.

Are there any options that let you embed, but also give the viewer the option to get the original HQ file?
If not I guess can just embed a YT, and then toss a link to the original nearby.

I'd be more open to youtube if you could just make your stuff invisible to the random schmucks browsing and searching, and just use it as a glorified file host for embeds. Is that possible? I straight up hate the youtube crowd.

You can make it private, which is kind of weird, it's viewable up to 25 people, I think of your choosing...so it's kind of weird, because generally YouTube wants it to come in searches, so you can't have it as directly-linked only.

As far as I know, anyway.

no, you can make it so it's only viewable through a special url so you can just post it here and it won't show up in searches. I think you need a youtube account to view it and it still has the 25 person limit

Awesome, youtube changed again. And of course now we have control of even less space and their "related videos" redirection gets featured more prominently. Everything's more compact now and glitchy too. I don't need a damn web page to be this CPU-intensive.

It would be really cool if we could see a real-time chart of u2b's profits/losses so we could compare them to these annoying changes. I'm curious if they're actually working for them or if annoying everyone is backfiring as bad as you'd expect. Man, i can't remember the last time u2b made a change and it felt like a good thing. The highest status they've reached in recent memory is "mixed blessing."

I wonder how long it'll take them to redesign channel layouts again, since they don't match the video page layouts at all anymore. At least the embedded player hasn't changed.

Not everyone is getting the new layout, some are getting even just parts of the new layout instead of all of it. I haven't been updated with any of it.

I haven't noticed any changes myself, funny how part of why google is so good is because the main page is so simple. Yahoo always had a million things on it's page and takes much longer to load and all google has ever had is an image and a button
