Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Doopliss, that's because you are using English Akuma and his English VA sucks really really bad.On a more serious note, does any of you have an unpatched version or something?Gotta test that combo myself to see if weird stuff happens to me too and reply back here.
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
It's his akuma that does too much damage, not the other way around. We both have PC version (I guess, because he changed training mode stage). And I like all english voices. Except Sakura.Smileymike101 wrote:Doopliss, that's because you are using English Akuma and his English VA sucks really really bad.On a more serious note, does any of you have an unpatched version or something?Gotta test that combo myself to see if weird stuff happens to me too and reply back here.
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
No, when i usually make this combo, the dmg is 722... But sometimes, ups to 779... And apparently no reason for.
I dont know if that is ramdomly, or something is happening...
The first hits always do the same dmg, its the Ultra, sometimes raises the damage scaling.

Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
But you got the stronger version two times in a row, so I assumed that it happened all the time :/ Hever haved it happpen to me? U sure you haven't played around with in-game values?
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
No, im sure that nothing like handicaps or anything is changed. And similar things had happen to me with Xbox 360 version (with the Ultra´s Rose for example) That is not normal in my game.
Well, I got the stronger version not only 2 times, I remember around 4 or 5 times... And suddently, the combo becomes "normal" again.
I dont know exactly why happen this, but I think that its possible that if the dummy hits you (using the record command or CPU) the training mode maybe changes your dmg scaling, like in a real fight... But this is only a supposition.
That stuff only happen to me sometimes, and always after a 30 min or more of training mode... Sure Im tested some counters or reversals during this time, so...
If now I open the game and test that combo, im sure that the damage will be 722. But sometimes...

Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
This is extremely weird, I hope we'll find a solution someday.
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Yes... Maybe someday ...
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
I jsut discovered a weird thing. The first hit of dhalsims EX yoga flame puts them in float knockdown on counterhit in the air. Try it yourself, Try hitting the opponent with AA CH EX Yoga flame, then EX Yoga thrust, 1 hit will connect. This doesn't work without counterhit. You can also make the 2nd hit of the fireball whiff and hit them with, for example s.HP, or, in this case, FA: http://www.filefront.com/15777345/CHAAEXYFJuggle.mp4

Why is this thread dead?
I didn't know Blanka could do c.LK -> Ultra. Now I got some material for a new combo video.

Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Because we can't find new amazing and interesting things about SF4.We need SSF4 already.
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
yah that's one of his hard changeless, link c.mk to ultra. lk has the same frame advantage.Doopliss wrote: I didn't know Blanka could do c.LK -> Ultra. Now I got some material for a new combo video.
there's still more to be found. I know I won't get my hands on ssf4 for at least 6 months if at allSmileymike101 wrote:Because we can't find new amazing and interesting things about SF4.We need SSF4 already.

Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Oh god, almost 600 damage also, but can anoyone tell me, how the hell did i see Starnab in a video do cr.mp ~ cr.mp ~ rekka with fei long?I mean for this to work the second cr.mp has to hit meaty on it's 3rd active frame, but for it to hit that meaty, besides spacing which i dont even know how it works, the first cr.mp ALSO has to hit meaty on the 3rd frame, to give the necessary 7 frames advatange. All that and 1 frame link into rekka. How does this work?

link to video?Smileymike101 wrote:how the hell did i see Starnab in a video

Well, he wasn't at 100% health.Smileymike101 wrote:Oh god, almost 600 damage also, but can anoyone tell me, how the hell did i see Starnab in a video do cr.mp ~ cr.mp ~ rekka with fei long?I mean for this to work the second cr.mp has to hit meaty on it's 3rd active frame, but for it to hit that meaty, besides spacing which i dont even know how it works, the first cr.mp ALSO has to hit meaty on the 3rd frame, to give the necessary 7 frames advatange. All that and 1 frame link into rekka. How does this work?
Isn't it possible that he simply did "c.MP, CH c.MP -> LP Rekka"?
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Haha nice Fei Long combo. Can you start with j.MP and end with MP super?
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
No to both, sadly. Getting the HP super to connect in the end was very hard, I had to cancel after the first cancable frame for it to work.

Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
no it was a 5 hit combo after the last rekka.
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Ok, really weird. Then didn't he do c.MP -> s.MP .> Rekka or something? XD I want to see that video. Btw, Fei's super and ultra have 11 frame start up, right? Not 10. Because then CH close s.MP -> Ultra would work, and it doesn't. But CH close s.MP -> HP Rekka works.

Ups my bad.It seems the first hit is, indeed CH.I didnt see this vid in a while and forgot. But still, the second cr.mp must have hit meaty on the 3nd frame, and i dont knwo how that works?I mean, abel and chun can land meaty jab in combos, against like 2 characters, but that is very spacing specific AND in only lands meaty on the 2nd frame. This is very weird.

Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
not that strange, crouching Sagat is one of the times you can hit meaty mid combo. Still cool beans
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
I have a question. Is it known that you can plink c.MK -> Ultra with Blanka? I'm quite certain that "c.MK -> Charge B, F, B, F+PPP~HK" works. Because if you plink with HK, taunt can't come out because you're not holding the stick in neutral, which makes the ultra come out. Can someone confirm this? I have trouble teally testing it, because I'm stuck with my 360 controller atm, which I'm not totally familiar with.
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
I have a feeling because of the way kara works plinking is kind of pointless outside of normalsDoopliss wrote:I have a question. Is it known that you can plink c.MK -> Ultra with Blanka? I'm quite certain that "c.MK -> Charge B, F, B, F+PPP~HK" works.
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Negative edge gives you 2 chances for ultras and it's an easier input.
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Ok, thanks for confirming that. I though it came out easierCPS2 wrote:Negative edge gives you 2 chances for ultras and it's an easier input.
Thing is, you can't kara like that, as you press PPP, then PPP+HK. Either way, it should result in ultra.error1 wrote:I have a feeling because of the way kara works plinking is kind of pointless outside of normalsDoopliss wrote:I have a question. Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation

Whoa, why does it look like she's blocking when she appears behind Seth?
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
that's the normal hit stun for that ultra right?Maj wrote:Whoa, why does it look like she's blocking when she appears behind Seth?
Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Yes, it's supposed to look like the opponent covers his or her face in reaction to the gust of wind the ultra produces.error1 wrote:that's the normal hit stun for that ultra right?Maj wrote:Whoa, why does it look like she's blocking when she appears behind Seth?
