Okay this has nothing to do with combos but i love the Sonic Boom shockwave captured at the KO screen of this round.

indeed there are some really cool effects in this game...i need to more screenshots, i think i made a few new ones then got more interested in actually playing the game. you should check out what you can do on PC yourself...I got CPU M. Bison to wake up into pseudo-simultaneous sonic booms (ex) but I didn't hit PrtScr fast enough. was pretty cool looking.

Hmm I should get unlazy and turn all the graphic settings to top quality and screenshot things at high res.

Actually there's an idea for a community project; SF4 screenshot collection -> video

I'm down. Personally though, I'd like to do it with the default PC version, no texture edits and stuff.

Bradley (Boxer) vs Arturo (Dhalsim) @ Smithtown PnT
sim does an instant air teleport vs boxer in the corner and ends up facing the wrong direction. Probably due to him being pushed back by the fireball

Evo 2008 ST Semis 2: Tokido vs. Mike Watson (Match 1)

Somehow Vega ends up behind Sagat and they both do backwards attacks which both whiff by a mile. This kinda thing isn't easy to set up. Totally useless for combos but it might make a cool screenshot if it works midscreen.

To counterbalance that, i present one of the coolest things i've ever seen:

CVS2 : Nakanishi vs Yamazaki93

(I may be exaggerating.)

The video's encoded all weird so the sound is totally out of sync and URL timestamps give it trouble, so just seek manually to around 3:15. In CvS2, the canceling blockstun part of Alpha Counters is represented by your character flickering black and white a few times. Supers in SNK grooves black out the background. At 3:18, Guile does an Alpha Counter at the exact time Sagat cancels c.MK into lvl3 low FB super, and Guile completely disappears. Who says blue camouflage doesn't work on a green/orange background?

Mikado 11.23 CAPvsSNK2 2 on 2 - Block A Finals 1/2

C-Ken player gets lucky and blocks Ryu's missed combo near the corner, then does Alpha Counter into lvl2 Shinryuken. It's nothing particularly new but surprising to see in a match. I bet the crowd was all like "Ohhhh!!"

Do you know these guys' names by any chance? I was trying to figure out who this V-Ryu player was:

a-cho RB1(2009.9.6)

A-Gen player has to be Dark, right?

Yeah Gen is DARK of course. Guy is Shinya. Sakura is Magical. Sagat is Nekonohi. Nash is Charlie. I don't even need to click the links to name these folks, they are all who play anymore, particularly at a-cho anyway since it's always the usual suspects at the RBs.

V-Ryu though, I'm not really sure, the only name I remember from a-cho was Fuchi but that was ages ago.

You could ask DARK though, he's a real nice guy and his English is solid enough for conversation.

Damn, that sucks. How can you tell?

Well, i tried to feature Dark since it's his channel but whatever. Not my fault they're so terribly (not) labeled.

  • -DARK uses kick color.
-Morimomo uses punch color and might be the best Gen player.
    -Their fighting styles differ.
-The announcer says "Morimomo Gen" at 0:28 and 1:28.
Edit: Results from that tournament.

I can't make sense of those results at all. Gen beats Ryu then Sakura beats Karin, which points to もりもも (GE) / くうたん (SK) vs えびで (RY) / ようせい (KA) but then Sakura fights Guy? Either he's uploading these in segments as long as possible under the 10min u2b limit or they're in random order.

And the next video starts with Akuma vs. Gen, so
he's uploading these in segments as long as possible under the 10min u2b limit

Street Fighter IV bug By Lord Of Combo

Somehow this guy got one of the Pitch-Black Jungle stage panthers to show up in the middle of the stage. It's probably the one that kinda wanders around in the background, because Sagat moves to the right side of the stage at 1:37 and the tree panther is still up there.

Yeah that was awesome. I love to see players make up combos on the fly when a strange situation occurs.

Ow. Crazy 3S Ryu corner super fireball parry setup to connect two hits of HK Hurricane Kick.

There's a dope Ryu/Akuma fireball sequence right before that too.
