ST Guile's super is advertised as charge DB, DF, DB, U+K but it can also be performed as charge D, F, B, U+K. This is actually a bad thing because it means you can't delay the second input of the super, so you can't follow up Sonic Boom with FK super the way that Balrog can do Dash Punch into super.
ST Guile can charge the super with DB or D, but not with DF. He can charge regular FK with all three down directions. The super requires three directional inputs in addition to charge. It can't be shortened to two, so charge DB, DF, UB+K does not work despite Capcom's lies.
HF Blanka can charge DB, then do Rolling Attack followed by Vertical Rolling. Spreading out the U and K inputs gives you roughly 15 frames work with. ST Blanka can do the same thing or he can do super instead of Vertical Rolling. It might even be a practical tactic if you catch your opponent jumping back into corners. SFA3 Blanka can also do both but it's harder cuz Rolling Attack has noticeably more recovery.

Hate to disagree with you, Maj, but I tried this pretty exhaustively with a programmable controller, and had no trouble getting db, df, ub + k to work.
I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do.

Re: Charge Experiments
Hm, i'm testing it using an emulator. I can't get charge DB, DF, UB+K to work if UB+K is limited to one frame. But oddly enough, i just got charge DB, DF, UB, UB+K to work. What version of ST are you testing with?
Re: Charge Experiments
CCC2. But I have been using 2 frames for each motion, e.g.,Maj wrote:Hm, i'm testing it using an emulator. I can't get charge DB, DF, UB+K to work if UB+K is limited to one frame. But oddly enough, i just got charge DB, DF, UB, UB+K to work. What version of ST are you testing with?
db (2), df (2), ub + k (2)

Re: Charge Experiments
Hm, i think we're talking about different things. I actually come across situations where FK super is one frame away from being comboable. Your method does indeed work but only because ST interprets UB as B for one frame and U on the next. It definitely doesn't work in any other game because ST is the only game that will accept B as a substitute for DB with regard to FK super.
My concern is, once you have charge, can you reduce FK super execution to under three input frames? The answer is no. You can cleverly use one direction to double for two different inputs, but it costs you two frames regardless.
