- Punish whiffs
- Punish activated V-Ism
- Corner escape
Combos:
- Jump in trade -> air recovery -> Super
- Kick style j.HK -> proxy cancel into Super
- And these

Thanks, seems the level 1 version is the most useful

Correct, but level 2/3 can make sense because the damage of the first hit is higher (24/30/36).

I see, can you still cancel the Level 2 in to a special? I'd imagine Lvl2 -> full Gekiro is possible?

The super isn't cancelable. Are you talking about "Kick style j.HK -> proxy cancel into Super"?
Re: Got any Questions about SFA, A2, Z2A, A3, A3U, or HSFA?
Level 2 supers are cancellable in to Specials right? (Like Kens level 2 Shoryu-Reppa -> Roll -> HP SRK)
I'd have expected maybe you could do the level 2 version & immediately cancel that when you land in to Gekiro to hit the juggled opponent.
Honestly, i don't really know what a "proxy-cancel" is

Kick style j.HK -> Super works by canceling the startup frames of the second hit of j.HK into the Super. In this combo, c.HP is chained into s.HK and s.HK's startup frames get canceled into the Super.proxy-cancel
Re: Got any Questions about SFA, A2, Z2A, A3, A3U, or HSFA?
They're not? damn i have to get my old SFA3 out now
EDIT - got confused, It was C-Groove in Cap Vs SNK 2 that had special cancellable level 2 supers. though i'm sure i remember doing an air tatsu directly after a shinryuken.
I'm shocked, i played that game casually with friends for at least a year &, yeah i was only 10, didn't know you could juggle opponents, hell, some are blatant, you can do 4 straight shooukens with Sakura.
I'd be expected for someone that age i guess, but i played SFEX2 at the same time & was trial'ing juggles all day.

Most blatant juggles are useless because of air recoveries.

Anyone know much about SFA3 for PSP? Is much different from SFA3?
Re: Got any Questions about SFA, A2, Z2A, A3, A3U, or HSFA?
Isn't the PSP one the double upper version, with characters like Yun, Ingrid and Maki? Is that available anywhere other than PSP btw?
Re: Got any Questions about SFA, A2, Z2A, A3, A3U, or HSFA?
PSP version is a modified version of a modified version of...SFA3 "upper," which was when they re-launched the arcade game on NAOMI hardware (same as CvS series) with all the console versions' content put in.
If you have the SFA Anthology, you can try the "Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper" mode in PS2, it'll have some of the same changes.
So it's like...
-SFA3 Arcade, (CPSII)
[consoles PS1, DC, Saturn]
-SFA3 Upper Arcade, (NAOMI)
[consoles GBA, PSP, PS2 as part of SFA anthology]
The mainstream/competitive scene didn't really touch the Upper/MAX stuff.
Easy way for me to tell apart SFA3 Upper vs SFA3 Proper footage is the lifebars. The colors are weird and the health drains red, instead of a darker shade of red/blue/green

The GBA version has one-button throws.
The big changes in Upper are the removal of crouch canceling and whiffed throws not building meter.
Doopliss: Eagle, Maki and Yun are in the GBA version.

Really? I should give that one a shot then. Four buttons though...Buttermaker wrote:http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/ ... ifferences

They need to be unlocked, but there's a cheat.

super turbo revival on gba was pretty good. had that no-charge-required easy mode, which Maj used in his Guile video.
....so is the gba a3 any good?

Yeah, it's decent. The four button issue can be avoided with an emulator, although you might as well just use the PSP version.

Did anyone make any content for sfa3 max?
I played that game a fair bit, but was just really mucking around.

Oh that also reminds me. In PSP version you can also macro special moves to buttons, so you can do no-charge flash kick for example. But I don't anyone really wants to dig out SFA3 to try that out. Also, just for interest, when was OTG grabs taken out of the alpha series?

OTGs were never removed (if that's what you mean).

I remember trying OTG V-ism grabs and that didn't work (PSP version)Buttermaker wrote:OTGs were never removed (if that's what you mean).

I only checked out the PSP version after it was mentioned here. The recording is new.
