FLV Video Format Conversion

Post by TomSinister »

Does anybody know a good way to convery FLV video to other formats like MP4, WMV, AVI, ect? I've tried a bunch of different software, but haven't been able to find anything that works. My current solution is to upload the FLV videos to youtube and then download the video off youtube in a different format. This means that the video gets encoded twice, so I lose some quality and it takes a long time. If any of you guys know a better solution then I'd love to hear it!

This was exactly what I needed to solve MY rendering problems. An easy-to-use program where I can just insert the files and rerender them so that they work with Vegas. Thanks for the tip!

Btw, for a ghetto file-conversion method that always works, you can record the video playing in VLC with fraps, and you'll get it in uncompressed AVI. The filesizes are huge though, and it requires your computer to be able to run the video while recording without frame drops.
Maybe Doopliss isn't kicking ass, but he's taking names.

fraps doesn't actually make uncompressed avis, it's just close to it.

I see, I just assumed it did since the files are so huge.
