Real/Fake YouTube Channels

Post by Maj »

I'll be honest, i get a little annoyed when i find a cool video on u2b and rate/comment/favorite it, only to find out that it was uploaded by some fool who found it on another website or jacked it from another channel. So we should have a list.

Fake Channels

lordaborigine's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/lordaborigine
alternate: http://www.youtube.com/LordAborigineSF4
(uploads matchvids from everywhere and had to change accounts due to infractions from uploading Evo vids)

EventHubs' channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/EventHubs
(two hundred vids, zero original content)

Min0ra's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Min0ra
(basically downloads and reuploads whatever's popular on 2b)

supas4gsz's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/supas4gsz
(it's one thing to steal a video, but to deliberately edit out all intros and credits?)

barrenscottinc's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/barrenscottinc
(tournament matchvids from various places, including SBO DVD rips)

Suspect Channels

Shiro's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Shiro420
(some stuff he contributed to, but hundreds of other vids he had nothing to do with)

GhettoD's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/donsneddon
(i'm not okay with the implication that Ghetto Don has internet access)

Any others?

It's ghetto d, I KNOW HOW FUNNY THAT SOUNDS. However, I will testify/swear before a jury that i saw him recording videos which he then put up on that youtube channel. To whoever doesn't know who Ghetto D is, haha.

Dunno if it counts, but LiangHuBBB reuploads LOT of stuff, mostly trailers and generic gameplay videos though.
Maybe Doopliss isn't kicking ass, but he's taking names.

tbh, this only bothers me if the video was already on youtube. Channels like Soh85 and Emillll pretty much only post videos that have been ripped from Nico or Youkou, but it gives the English speaking community an easy way to access them (with translated player names etc.), rather than having to make a login for those sites and discover the kanji strings required to search for what you want. I think it's a very useful service to the community, and I am glad these channels exist. Of course you should always reference where the video originally comes from (which I know these two do) and provide a link to it.

But going by that, would'nt any channel that posts match videos be fake? Then we'd have no matches....Loraborigine's channel is cool.Has major events like godsgarden and whatnot.

Emil's channel bugs me. I don't care about mirrors, etc, you've heard that before. But there's been a couple community projects that have been passed around within the group prior to finalization, so the project was not necessarily finalized, so it irks me that he took the videos without permission and uploaded them to his account. It's one thing to grab it and up it after it's upped by the original author, but it's a totally different matter to grab it and up it before it's actual intended debut without even asking.

It's like yeah, we worked on it and you didn't -- and yeah, we intended to debut it and you sniped it.

Um ... no.

Listen, i understand that it's convenient to have someone take all the good content they can find and put it one place for easy consumption. I don't care if you guys visit those channels/websites or even support them with ratings/comments/subscriptions/etc. But stealing is stealing.

If i was actively trying to hinder these thieves, i'd go raise hell on SRK, bother them on their channels/websites, and flag them on u2b. But i'm not trying to start drama here. This is only a reference list for our own purposes. Personally i like to use video examples when i write articles. It would be nice to have a simple scorecard that i could use to determine whether someone's channel is worth promoting or whether it's better to keep looking for another suitable example that isn't on a fake channel.

I did make a user list thread on SRK a while back http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread. ... 201&pp=100
But there's no differentiation between thieves or whatever.

Added a bunch of random odds and ends, but this'll probably take a while to get anywhere near complete.

Some YT Channels of the japanese Vampire Community (Officials):

- DD's Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/DDsasquatch

- Shimatuya's Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/shimatuya

- EGO's Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ukio987

- Ken's Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/KENGALLON

- Orekon's Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/orecomchan

- 19sai's Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ggpo19sai

- Shiogama Shuttle Arcade's Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/SIOGAMASHUTTLE

- TKO's Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/keyboardmasterTKO

Edit: I have another Youtube channel...yeah i'm a thieve u_u, so It's fake, mostly Alpha Station and some TRF footages: http://www.youtube.com/user/KeikoXTC
I uploaded all that footages because there's no High Level Match footages for that games in Youtube (Slam Masters, Groove on Fight, Ninja Masters etc), and it seems that there's no interest on the real nico uploaders to put them on Youtube (yet), and that's why i'm doing it.
You can flag the videos as innapropiate, no problems with that, i'm perfectly concius that what i'm doing is wrong, but i felt the need of doing it.

Ahh thanks for the channel, I've never seen high level Waku Waku or RotD matches before, and I'll definitely be checking out those Groove on Fight matches (love this game).

EDIT:
Hmm noticed this channel wasn't listed -> http://www.youtube.com/user/kouhatsu

Not sure if it's "legit" but it's great for match vids (often of obscure games such as Akatsuki Blitzkampf). I think it's an arcade that uploads it's own vids.

Originally i had these two channels listed under the "Fake" section:
Koruchado's channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Koruchado
alternate: http://www.youtube.com/user/Rollcancel
(just uploads random Japanese SF4 combovids he found on nicovideo)
But somehow he found this (basically obsolete) thread and PM'd me on u2b to voice his displeasure. Turns out he wiped the first channel clean (it's mostly FPS videos now) and outright deleted the second channel, so i've removed them from the main list above.
