Got any questions about the MARVEL series?

Post by CPS2 »

I'm just wondering, in XMvSF or other marvel games like MSHvSF or MvC1, do we know how FSD works yet? I know that after flying screen if you do an infinite, after a while you can do special moves, and super jump etc, but I'm certain I saw an XMvSF video where someone was just relaunching over and over again with Ryu, like as soon as he landed he'd do another cr.HP. I'll find the video if it's not clear what I'm talking about...

you can relaunch all day as long as you don't trigger flying screen

Do any moves stun them all the way to the ground and not trigger it? With either Ryu or Wolverine in xmvsf =P
I can mess around with this more and find the answer myself if it's not something of the top of anyone's head.

edit: I'm pretty sure the video I was thinking of was k2o with hypersonic and vice versa. I haven't tried recreating the combos yet, they just look like they got to FSD really quickly with wolv, ryu and ken.

in xvsf most characters can launch and go back down without triggering fs

The main trick is to land a hit on the last frame of airborne hitstun. That tends to reset FSD in MSH and XSF, but they removed that in MSF.

We had a pretty good thread exploring FSD a while back.

In xvsf, its not the infinite that breaks flying screen, its the spacing and timing of the hits of mostly medium attacks or hard attacks.
For example, 1 variation of cyclops' corner infinite is him doing a bunch of jabs(about 4 or 5) then an elbow(d.mp)...this is the one I do in arcades to be a lil flashy, but I will NEVER break flying screen that way.
For flying screen to be broken I need to space the hits out more....so the variation I would use is lp, d.mp, wait, d.mp, lp, d.mp....basically, only use jab to stop them from going too high, or falling too low.
Of course this is sometimes character specific.
Wolverine can break flying screen on a certain number of characters without doing multiple reps. (sabertooth, juggernaut, rogue). I have no clue why it works that way.

I dont know if this was what you saw, but ryu has a relaunch that doesnt cause flying screen. If interested I will tell you how its done.

Another thing, it doesnt matter how many fsd's you do, you still only have ONE OTG....granted you combo a throw that bounces off the floor, that's the only way that character is hitting the ground twice.
EDIT:
With the shotos, you can cause fsd by comboing d.mk, d.lk, d.mk, on most characters....it worked for me. But spacing matters.

Perhaps THCs scale differently?

I meant why do such braindead retarded combos, that can be achieved with one hand on a pad, do 75% damage and an average health characters, and would almsot kills someone like Ammy or zero.

Besides NKI's Glitch Bible, is there anywhere else I can find some glitches for the vs series?
Does msh have any?
What about that double shuma shit from mshvsf?

Not that i know of. That kind of info gets pretty damn scarce when you go back beyond like MvC1. Nobody really bothered writing that shit down back in the day, and then the emu generation of Marvel glitchvid makers never provided transcripts.

Can anyone help me find a CMV I'm looking for? All I can remember is that it's a MvC2 vid and the background music is Michael Jackson - Beat It. IIRC, Ozzy & Bugrave were the only names in the credits.

MSH Volume 2:
At 38secs, it is not suki cancelling, but crouch cancelling.

XMvSF Volume 1:
1) At 2mins 7secs, and 5mins 30secs he uses dhalsim's yoga fire for the period that it's on screen.
2) At 4mins 1sec he uses chun li's fireball.

XMvSF Volume 2:
1) At 1min 30secs juggernaut's earthquake was used.
2) At 3mins 18secs he uses chun li's fireball.
3) At 4mins 56secs he uses dhalsim's yoga fire for the period that it's on screen.

MSHvSF Volume 1:
1) At 20 secs he fights the assist as the main character(dhalsim) throws fireballs and does random attacks to force cyclops to block....dhalsim continues to refly to refrain from getting hit.
2) At 2mins 1sec he does the same thing to finish off akuma.
3) I have NO EXPLANATION for 4mins 18secs.
4) At 5mins 17secs he does the same thing as #1.

On another note, I found this.
I'll give $20 to whoever can pronounce ryu's hurricane kick super 3 times without getting tongue twisted.

that's just Zangief doing his jump cancels, you do a command air normal on the frame you leave the ground and it cancels the jump but leaves you airborne for a few frames

Pretty awesome stuff. It's a little too loopy for me, but otherwise dope. Are there any major discoveries in there?

Major discoveries, I dont think so, but there was some stuff that I didnt know about.
The first 2 combos are a lil sketchy to me. This guy is doing INSTANT FSD's and I can't understand how.
Especially the wolvie combo on S.tooth.
I did like the magneto and storm shit in part 2 though. I think I'm about to start messing around with them vs colors too.

Can anyone explain why flying screen is still activated here?
That last Hp was a super.
From what I've always known, throws break flying screen. I could show an example of that in this same combo but then I'll have to reveal everything.
What I think is that it might have something to do with the 200% part.
But its really odd for a throw not to break flying screen.
