I have both.
xpadder reads the fightstick, but only the buttons work in mugen.
joytokey is the most complicated piece of shit to ever hit the pc.....there's a picture walkthrough that im trying to follow but it doesnt make sense.
picture one says to map button 5+6 to use joystick's 3+4 configuration....there's NO option to do so.
I just want to use my stick for once.....i cant do anything with controller

j2key is really simple but the buttons you need to map to is going to be different for every controller
basically the j2key should map your stick to buttons on your keyboard, so you can make button 1 press the "a" key or something
I've never used it with a fight stick tho

I'm not worried about the buttons.
The joystick is my problem

That's a tough case. See, I have the TVC fightstick with the Classic Controller to USB adapter. The adapter has a special function that lets you "mode switch" to different configurations for the Joystick; one of the modes in particular lets it accept joystick motions as stuff like "JOY 1 UP" instead of the normal config that only certain games respond to. I guess with a regular fightstick M.U.G.E.N. wouldn't normally accept the motion. I'm gonna test J2K with the stick's "normal mode" and see if it picks up the joystick command.

If it's the Madcatz stick, have you tried the LS/DP/RS switch?wolverine-master wrote:I have both.

I got it....
I went to a different site and they gave me more info on how to use it.
If anyone is interested I will post how to do it.

Wow, I completely overlooked the LS/DP/RS switch! Yeah, that in itself would go a long way in getting the joystick to respond.

I'm guessing it was to do with hat switches or something. Haven't used joy2key for ages but I remember having to enable them for some sticks.
