i've used the randomness to win grappler mirror matches against my own inputs...and i hate to say this, and it is fixable, but uh...you have it listed as "street fighter vi", or sf6. which, as we all know, will no longer have any random elements

Haha.

EDIT: actually, while I'm here. I have an engine question. Does anyone know precisely how many frames you have to plink after the initial button press? Meaning, at what point will the 2nd button no longer activate the previous input.

idk, my scripting doesn't have good enough accuracy to consistently plink, that would leave me to believe it's a 1 frame thing

It's most definitely a 1-frame thing.

Plinking is single frame. Also, IIRC, if you do something like:
lp
mp (lp held)
fp (lp+mp held)
on consecutive frames, the input will be interpreted as:
lp
lp+mp
fp

Yes, you can't plink several frames in a row.

...and when we say 1-frame. That's actually 1/60 of a second, right?

I bet it's 2 frames. It's too easy to do by hand to be only a one frame window.I mean, i have almost 50% accuracy of plinking R1 and R2 with face buttons (ps3 pad), and for my horrbile execution (horrbile horrible horrbile i mean.I drop cr.jab cr.jab st.hk with dudley in matches) that's WAAAAY to huge to be a one framer.

It's a simple timing, but it is 1 frame.

Exactly, doing something 'as quick as physically possible' will give you the timing within 1 frame. It's not comparable to a 1-frame link, where you have to time such a precise thing at exactly the right moment, there's no timing to doing a plink.

Well, there is. It's not actually hard to hit two buttons faster than about 1/60 of a second apart, but anything less than about 180 ms is muscle memory anyway. (Hit freeze makes combos easier to learn, and harder to master.)

That's bizarre. Obviously a shortcut thing. I wonder if you can do Tatsus that way.

Looking at this dude's channel - is any of it on SRK's frontpage? Keits would most likely post it if you send it in.

Yeah man, I'm surprised this guy's stuff never get srk front page. he does a lot of fei long lab work. He also found a way to land close standing mp to HK Chicken wing via cross under mix up. It's quite amazing.

I jsut discovered a cool little thing you can do with Akuma. Do a lvl.2 FA point blank to crouching Honda, backdash after it hits, then do instant MP Zanku Hadoken. If you do it right, it will hit very late, allowing you to juggle after it. I'm sure someone can do something cool with this.

After a MP SRK only things you can do is HP SRK or EX Tatsu (or HP SRK -> FADC -> EX tatsu) that's still a nice find though

Well, if you can land a meaty fireball in the corner, you can use it as a finisher.

I can do a Hk Chicken wing as a counter, on dudley, then st. mp, then EX chicken wing, then Heavy punch, then lk Chicken wing, but I have no place for mk chicken wing..... Why do I main fei when I can't do anything fun with him.. . .

How many more frames do you get by adding a counter? If I hit with fei's las hit of his Mk chicken wing, is it possible to land a hp? Mk chicken wing ends with 2 frames of advantage, but I don't know how much more the counter hit would add. I've never known. if it adds 2 more frames, I can do the 4 chicken wings on dudley, but that's only if I get 2 more frames for the counter. ANyone know?

Yeah you're supposed to get +3 for special moves in SF4 and SSF4 but it varies somewhat.

It has been brought to my attention that specials are most likely +2 on counterhit. Light moves are +1 (command light moves can still be +3 though, like Dhalsim's b.LP and Sagat's f.LK), other moves +3. I have yet to see any proof that any special gives +3 on counterhit.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a ghetto percentage modifier. Like, whatever frame advantage (or rather hit stun) it normally has is increased by some percent, so it's all about finding the cutoff points. Just a hunch though.

I've tried it with stuff like Ken's EX Tatsu, Balrog's Dash Upper and TAP, and Sakuras LK Tatsu, all of them seem to have +2, because I hit with moves that require +2, but not +3.

seems like abel F+MK is +4 on counter hit because it's only +3 but you can do counter hit F+MK, F+MK

I suspect there is some variation in special moves

Yup, I was only able to plink Hp after the medium kick Chicken wing. That means it got 4+ frames instead of 2+ without the counter... so, I can't do a 4 chicken wing combo. Darn...

Oh yeah, now that you mention it. You can also do c.HP after CH f.MK xx Dash.
