I think they're just showing him charging in one direction, getting crossed up and doing an ultra in the other direction. Pretty much just have to hit PPP/KKK really late.Dark_Chaotix wrote:Whats happening with the balrog thing?

I've never played third strike... what exactly is happening here?
Re: Interesting Videos brought to You by the Internet
Nothing really, the guy just kept on going for reset -> throw and JWong guessed wrong like 5 times in row (he was probably expecting a crossunder at some point). I'm not on specifics here but I think he can get out by jumping or reversal, but a parry/block/throw will get beaten by Yang's command grab.

Yes, he could have cleanly jumped out of it or reversed it.
Re: Ghetto Combo Video Discussion
A couple of good new KoF vids:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBEGsbnNx2U
Combo vid from adakino Compilation of 100% combos vs Ralf's Galactica Phantom, 98UM. Some really interesting ways of using the setup. EX Yamazaki, Kasumi, Saisyu combos were awesome.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-grVhCKBmT8
'99-2k2 CMV, high technical skill and very stylish (nice editing too). Many combos use a variety of glitches in combination to create some amazing setups. These glitches often have strict timing and positioning requirements, so to combine so many in each combo is truly a feat. IMHO, highlights are at: Chang 2k 2:00, Terry 2k 4:20. Whip 2k1 5:35, Kyo 2k 6:10, Vanessa 2k2 7:55.

Re: Ghetto Combo Video Discussion
These are ghetto?
That vs Ralf one is hilarious even though the presentation played it straight.

Re: Ghetto Combo Video Discussion
I didn't think these were ghetto, either. Not sure about some of the 2k0 stuff though, like how'd they get the striker to hit the wrong character?
Looks like Jolly Ranchers & Baskin's Sherbet.
Re: Ghetto Combo Video Discussion
it looked like the opponent was calling strikers as they where getting comboed, also a lot of those had infinitive super for whatever reason
Re: Ghetto Combo Video Discussion
Ahh looks like posted this in the wrong thread, I meant to post it here http://combovid.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=73 (Maj, perhaps you could move it there if it's not too much trouble). I hope I didn't give anyone the wrong impression that these are bad videos, I see a lot of new KoF vids and only post the ones that I think are truly worthy.
Infinite super meter is pretty much standard for 2k1 combos and it's fairly prevalent in 2k as well. A lot of 2k combos with OTG can be avoided if the dummy recovery rolls. Just take it for what it is.
I'm not quite sure what you mean, Xenozip, which combo are you refering to? The dummy can call their striker, but only at specific times.

Re: Ghetto Combo Video Discussion
2k1 there is a legal way to get infinite bars, so even if looks like infinite its actually possible to do in arcade. In 2k (or other striker kof games) normally you cant call striker when you are being attacked, but there is a way to do that aswell which in turn interrupts combos and what not.

Re: Ghetto Combo Video Discussion
Well I got confused because it looked like the dummy was calling Geese striker, but Geese seemed to be hitting the dummy rather than the opponent. I guess it's just the way that particular striker looks though?

Re: Interesting Videos brought to You by the Internet
Yeah i know of him. He was a Russian tekken combo maker. He was on a site called E-ninja (cant find it now) and back in the tekken 5 / DR days they made some of the best combo vids. Akira was someone i looked at cos he made the better Kaz combos.Maj wrote:Anyone know what this is about?

Saw it on 538's twitter.
This combo vid i do remember being one of the best

Not having volume doesnt do the vid justice.
Im not sure if he was into PPads or anything like that, since KYSG commented on him.......Not sure how he died and it seems real cos alot of the tekken players have been leaving msgs on that youtube vid.

At the beggining of the video it says something like "Rough Sketch", maybe it's just some kind of preview.

Re: Interesting Videos brought to You by the Internet
I don't think he wants people to call it Volume 10 of the 3s series, as Necro was volume 9, etc...and this isn't as polished. (yet?)
Re: Interesting Videos brought to You by the Internet
Dont > Not, maybe. Like, "Not Volume 10". Maybe he doesn't feel like editing it like he usually does and just wanted to get it out.
Re: Interesting Videos brought to You by the Internet
Seems like it's a work in progress.

Re: Interesting Videos brought to You by the Internet
Hahaha why is the section of T2 combos against Heihachi called "anti father"?? And then the combos against Kuma are labeled "grooming." Too good.
Re: Interesting Videos brought to You by the Internet
No idea about them names, but sure the both volumes were fine.Maj wrote:Hahaha why is the section of T2 combos against Heihachi called "anti father"?? And then the combos against Kuma are labeled "grooming." Too good.
It seems either launching properties over Hei's sprite cause him to be more vertical, therefore easier to get behind the opponent or Hei's hitbox from behind seems to be larger and these combos couldn't be performed on other characters.
Might need to dust off the old T2 to experiment. Haven't touched the game in years!

KoF '99 EVO combo vid by GFN-ZZZ of Type-XYZ.
Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25d3LLO5nYM
Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yjnx0CAjGjI
Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHeh07wuhCE
This is easily the best KoF '99 material I have seen outside of a few combos here and there. Everything is really good so it's almost impossible to pick highlights, but I have to say the Bao combos (or should I say combugs?) were on another level. Everyone needs to watch this!

Fuuuck!! All of those people are legendary, and i didn't even know this video existed. I would so highlight this on ComboVid if it wasn't blatantly stolen and uploaded without permission.
