Re: KOF XIV combo videos

Great stuff as always! I like how many pillows you had that sleepy kid juggle with. Hopefully SamSho and future KoFs are more interesting; I know SS traditionally hasn't been super combo-heavy but who knows?

Two more KOF XIV char specific vids with two of the new DLC chars Blue Mary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LPtnBiKERg Najd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBoS8zuxeg0 Probably the KOF XIV vids I put less effort in. I have way less time now than when I started doing KOF XIV vids but, anyway, I did...

Really? I know that Kara means empty in Japanese, though they actually don't use the term for the same meaning. I always thought kara cancel as like, cr.HK~LPshoryu with Ken in 3s, as in, 1st frame canceled into another move, but you can cancel whiffed moves in A2 into CCs. if you guys agree that th...

Test of this sort of thing: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/160419538 . No, you don't have to watch it all lol. I just streamed the first chunk of terms, nobody was watching until towards the end so I wasn't interrupted. I was figuring I'd stream/record this stuff then chop it up later. Pretty much sta...

I was only like 5 minutes in, but yeah during trials I was like, whoa, there'sslightly charged HP moves? I would figure it to be binary, uncharged or charged, and like you said, there's no obvious indicator when you're half-charged up or whatever it is.

We talked going this year (and the last few years tbh), but ultimately went to Europe for a week instead. I'm going to be hosting a Sunday viewing party at our apartment though, so it's practically like being there.

Anything cool coming from Riot Games? :D

Re: Combo Penny Tray

4 hits?

It's a little tricky to get midscreen, have to walk a little before taunting, at least on Ken. You can also do it with b+HP, V-trigger on 2nd hit. this is a fun ender, though it's hard to do after another combo because of the pushback. It would surprise viewers, for sure

So happy to already see some of these. I really like how they decided to implement MAX mode in this one; way easier to understand (you can cancel into it for 1 stock and it gives you EX moves, right?) and not super-long, boring combos.

Re: Street Fighter V Combo Engine Investigation

Weird thing with R. Mika - f+HP xx V-Trigger (above), once Nadeshiko hits, I can't get a regular Wingless Airplane (qcf+k) to juggle. Nadeshiko hits the opponent, and Mika just sort of pushes them. But I found that, if timed just right, getting Nadeshiko and Wingless Airplane to hit simultaneously w...

Why does that seem weird? Don't meaty attacks work that way in every game, that you recover earlier than normal so you have more frame advantage?

As usual, this is going to be harder than I thought. I think I'm going to start with writing, then reading, then recording visuals. I've found it hard to record visuals then do audio after the fact. If you ever wanted to know how noisy your house is, try doing something that requires a lot of quiet....

Terminology/Glossary Series

Hey, guys, Something that's run through my mind for the past few years has been the idea of a video explaining terminology and/or base concepts for fighting games. I think this sort of thing is thought of/important every time a new release is happening or EVO is happening, so...here we go again. I'm...

I want MOTW characters... In general, I love when SNK brings in new characters from their other IPs, instead of redesigning characters already brought into KOF. SNKP owns Rage of the Dragons, too, and they may have rights to Breakers, though they co-published it with Visco. I'm not asking for it to ...

unfortunately, I agree with Ultima's take, too. If it weren't slated for early 2016, I'd say hold out for better graphics...though with the negative reactions, maybe they'll push it back. I think it'll stick with 2d gameplay, that's been successful for them, right? The sprites were beautiful, but ex...

So i've gotten yet another answer as to what 3rd Strike's "SGGK" stands for. Previously I heard "Super Great Goalkeeper," which is a reference to a good soccer goalie (how they block everything), and "Slide Grab Gyakunitaku Kick," which is apparently a reference to Chun...

PSP version is a modified version of a modified version of...SFA3 "upper," which was when they re-launched the arcade game on NAOMI hardware (same as CvS series) with all the console versions' content put in. If you have the SFA Anthology, you can try the "Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper...
