Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Sorry I forgot to clarify I was purposefully whiffing an air attack in that last test. Specifically j.MP. Just for the sake of testing if a DP comes out at all or not during the dummy recording. I know whiffing the attack makes it not an option select but I was testing landing recovery caused from ...

Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
More testing results: I tried what Maj suggested and input a DP into an immediate block. If Guile did a reversal flashkick Ryu would block, and if the flashkick wasn't a reversal he'd DP through it. Though that doesn't really reveal anything useful. FuzzyGuard does exist in SF4. No surprise there. ...

Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
So I revise my statement earlier in #1. Pre-jump frames are throw-invincible from frame 1, but there seems to be some weird stuff going on during landing. I'm a little confused about how this makes SF4 special. In CvS2 Training Mode, you can set the opponent action to Jump and you can still throw t...

Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Good stuff I have some understanding of superfreeze, in that the game won't recognize inputs during it even if your character is moving. But you should still be able to start a flash kick because it only requires 1 frame of input. I'm guessing you're not using a program pad to test this, is there a...

Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
Hey guys, it's been many seasons since my last post and visit here, but I have a ton of SF4 findings and system details I wanna discuss with you guys. I'm primarily a competitive player before I am a combo maker, but during my quest to get an edge over my opponents with my main character Ryu, I've r...

I want Vic famous and I want to get fighting games the justice they deserve on the mainstream media. I don't know I how I can help exactly, but if there's anything that I can provide, I'm more than willing to.

Re: SF4 Combo Engine Investigation
This is mostly in regards to the Korean vid and ZenFire's post. First of all, I'd like to take the credit for doing jump in RH (absorbed by focus attack) -> land and DP on day 1 of SF4 in Korea. Gimme my cookie now. As you guessed, I've also started doing back dash after absorbing a jumping attack a...

Re: Does anyone care about SF4? (FG News thread)
I actually have a good reason to believe Gouken is in the game. According to what I know, the producer has said he's in it. So even if Gouken is in fact in the game, I won't be surprised at all. I've been playing SF4 nonstop lately. The first impression I got was that it was just as I expected; some...

Ah, cool. We should definitely do it, possibly at FFA since it's been forever since the last time I went there to actually play cvs2.

Re: If you are going to Evo
Desk - I know. Coincidentally, the only match we got to play was a game we mutually hated.
Maj - You and I need to play some cvs2. It's like your favorite game, and it for sure is mine. Either Socal or Evo would do. I wanna play your Guile in a match. Choi's Guile locked me down pretty bad this Evo.

Re: Trivia Quiz 01: CPS1 & Dragons
I can't count. Yeah, Yoga Flame and Yoga Fire are two different moves, and you're very sharp for thinking oil drums as well. I didn't know that Ken's came out 3 freakin frames faster. I know it's not 3 frames of difference in SSF2. However, I don't believe Ken's fierce DP in SSF2 and ST are 0 frame ...

Re: How could we determine whether DC and PS2 CvS2 speeds ma
Good test, and I enjoyed watching the vids. However, there could be a problem with this method. When capture cards capture at 29.97fps, I believe the resulting video is forced to 29.97fps even if the actual video feed is running at a slightly different frame rate (like 59.94 vs 60.00). But then, I'm...

I am so sure Sim in WW can cancel his close low forward into yoga fire. I've been hit by that shit over and over in the corner while playing as guile, so I must be correct.Maj wrote: Honda, Blanka, Gief, and Sim have no cancelable normals whatsoever and yet Gief has the craziness mentioned above.

Re: How could we determine whether DC and PS2 CvS2 speeds ma
Hey, guys. Through personal experience, both DC and PS2 are definitely faster than the arcade, but I don't notice any difference between DC and PS2. Here are my ideas of testing them after 5 minutes of brainstorming. 1) While doing nothing Run the ice stage on both systems side by side at default to...

Ok, I've read all the posts below it now. When it comes to the issue of the hatred on "anime girl fighters" regardless of whether it's mainstream or underground, I have a very specific but simple criteria for it. If it's pedo stuff, I despise it. Arcana Heart is a prime example of that Jap...

Re: Does anyone care about SF4?
So I'm not the only one that got some red flags on the mechanics from watching the video. The revenge system worried me the most. The idea of giving you something when you get hit or block isn't new (ie. gives you meter in most games now) but the functions of the meter itself had me worried a lot. I...

The first thing that came to my mind was the broadband adapter. I did a little searching on ebay and found out that it's ridiculously expensive. That's most likely out of the question. I just saw this video about an hour ago and couldn't stop laughing the whole time.

It's a cvs2 combo video featuring things such as:
-uncombos
-gdlk color edits
-inconsistent speed settings due to the "difficulty" of some combos

I've been giving Sirlin the benefit of the doubt on where the blame lies in the piece of unplayable plastic that is CCC2 ST.... until the latest post he made in the CCC2 thread. Awesome news! I wanna see this video as much as I wanna watch MagMan vs Justin MM. Thanks for doing the test, NKI. Four frames of input lag is just unacceptable for any kind of versus play. I'm also very surprised that a player like Sirlin wouldn't notice such an obvious lag in input while many othe...

Maj, I found out how to select Rugal in kof94 without hacking or using cheats. All you have to do is use what's called a debug bios. It's a real bios made by SNK that can do all sorts of neat things in games. You can also do the same thing with UniBIOS, but that's more leaning towards hack/cheat. Th...
