LOL@ widescreen actually having a smaller screen width, that's counterintuitive.
About as far as I got with the game was noticing that after anything which causes a hitstun like dizzy or stagger (Saki's command throw, Stungun Headbutt, etc) when you ground combo them afterward it actually turns ...

Re: FSD in the Versus Series
Actually, I would further say that the throw itself doesn't break FS (by virtue of being a throw, that is) since in MvC2 you can throw after a combo and keep FS on. Thanks Magnetro! (Never thought I'd say that...) It's only the last-frame thing that ever matters.

Re: Challenge 13: Everybody Gets Shot
You can shoot Birdie because she's separate, but you can't shoot Commando's or BBHood's gangs without hitting the main character. However, BBH's group shoots missiles and bullets, which replace her 2 helpers (though it doesn't look like she gets to actually shoot any before she gets hit due to the ...

If you're looking for weird, I suggest C-Athena/Rugal, R3/R1 but doesn't matter which is R3. If Rugal is R3, you can kill R1s with just c.Short x2 xx Lv2 wallslam xx Fierce wallslam...and the chip dmg from Athena's Lv2/Lv3 crystal super goes up along with her regular damage, so at R3 or R4 she does ...

Do CH's do more stun, or just more hitstun?
How about Zangief vertical j.Strong, land, junk? That does 600 stun by itself, with his c.Jab doing 50 stun and the green hands doing 100 to 200 it almost seems like the B&B c.Jab x2, s.Jab, link s.Short xx glove ought to do it right there.

Re: FSD in the Versus Series
Is that 1-frame timing, or do you have longer to do it?
If it's 1-frame, it's probably: they fixed throws comboing from the last frame of hitstun (by just fixing the combometer, not the actual it-connecting-on-that-frame problem), and they fixed throws breaking FS, so in XSF that throw would have ...

Does countering out or double-supering out reset it also? I know they forget to reset all sorts of stuff with snaps in MvC2, maybe this is similar? Or a double super then hit Rogue so she leaves, they probably missed that case if anything.

I'll look into MSH some more today. There is stuff I can almost-but-not-quite remember that had really weird properties, like FS just kinda going away if you did enough reps of an infinite. I could almost attribute that to last-frame-of-hitstun, though.

One of the people I work with did most of the animation for Brutal, including the intro/ending (yes, one character has an ending!) animations for the non-SNES versions. He was both happy and sad to see the game again.

Um, Birdie actually HAD that magic throw in some version of SFA1. I clearly remember this. Maybe my memory has been destroyed by years of being alcohol free, but I'm 100% sure (not even only 99% sure). Cancelling the landing of an airblock into 360+K played the grab part, a-la SSF2 Zangief.
