Re: My AE 2012 combo video

I posted, then I deleted my post. I get annoyed far too easily and I can't be bothered. It's a sick vid doolpiss and I hope it's obvious that on day 1/2 people will come up with similar ways of showing stuff (though my heart did sink when I watched your Viper combo), as is obvious if we look back at...

Re: SSF4:AE Combo Engine Investigation

Close fierce does base 200 stun instead of 140, so, for example, you can RSF dizzy Gief, which is effectively impossible in SSF4.... though I suppose that can also be worse.... Hmm. He didn't have the Q-Bomb FADC juggle in the corner, so... Vanilla's is probably worse. Ah, I thought you meant you c...

Re: SSF4:AE Combo Engine Investigation

@Rufus. wow, that inspired me to hit training mode and stop slacking with fuerte, lol. Don't know why but his RSF seemed much easier when I knew the theoretical maximum. Just capped this vs Juri... j. HK, RSFx12, slide *stun* lv3FA, lv2FA, U2. 33hits. Thanks for going to the effort to make those vid...

Re: SF4 Biweekly TACV Series

dude, that might be the most incredible fighting game observation ever, lol. Also, I didn't even realise that it's going to be 8 bars, that has to be the most anyone has used in a single combo. Yeah, I think 19 is right. It's actually preferable to U2 in super because it that doesn't do a set amount...

Re: SF4 Biweekly TACV Series

Replacing meaty s.LP, ultra with c.HP (one hit) xx HK Lightning Legs (five hits), c.HP (one hit) xx EX SBK, whiff s.LP, ultra (ninteen hits) brings the total up to 190 hits. Is that transcribed correctly dude? I have a variation adding a bunch of hits to the loop that I'm too much of a douche to po...

Re: SSF4 Combo Engine Investigation

in sf6 the winner will be the one who spent the most on dlc Haha. EDIT: actually, while I'm here. I have an engine question. Does anyone know precisely how many frames you have to plink after the initial button press? Meaning, at what point will the 2nd button no longer activate the previous input.

Re: Random Lazy Questions

I've had a bunch of similar thoughts actually, I can't explain the points difference without examining the 2 combos but you might be right. It's weird though, because even in training mode with attack data on, it doesn't count higher than 99. You're right, if I lose rounds I could literally build 50...

Re: Random Lazy Questions

Yeah, a lot of the records aren't great. Worse, there's no competition on most of them to drive the scores up. I think the way to go would be to do an 'entertainment' run while still beating the score but sacrificing loads of points. Then, I guess, if anyone can be bothered to beat it (unlikely) the...

Thanks Maj, only been able to speak to 1 other person about that and they couldn't find anything either. Guess they don't have a leaderboard like they did in vanilla. They have records over at twin galaxies but there are clearly not enough people willing to submit stuff to them because the top score...

You seen this one before?.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXnUaVaLRLU Actually looks like guile's crouching block stance creates a pseudo floor or something. If that isn't vs CPU you'd be able to get some insane effects and combos from it. Random thought. Error, did you test being able to walk out ...

Re: SSF4 Combo Engine Investigation

The game doesn't require you release the final kick button. How do you get that number dude? it reads like you pressed the last button 16 frames after cr. fierce. I'm sure you're right, just want to understand the numbers. EDIT: just so you know Doopliss, you can hold all 3 of the final kicks and th...

Re: SSF4 Combo Engine Investigation

Could anyone who's able to test, provide a definitive answer to this one (I'm guessing with a ppad or PC version of vanilla)? With chun, after hitting cr. fierce, how many frames do you have to cancel into lightning legs? eg. fierce [frame 1] the last frame it would be possible to input the final ki...

Re: SF2 Reference Articles (work-in-progress)

It works in PSX ST for some reason. I was keeping that one to myself because I thought I'd get around to making a combo vid for that game but I never will, so it doesn't matter. A few other Ideas I had that I know I'll never go back to... Is any character ever considered to be below the ground in SF...

haha, I had the same thought and did try it out in alpha. I couldn't get anything but I was trying everything by hand and my testing wasn't extensive. So, yeah, you should definitely try it out. I only ever activated that with cr. mk (because it didn't require any screen scrolling). Good work by the way dude. Can you get it to work in arcade ST? From my testing a few years back, seemed to only work in the games preceding it. It was the same in hyper, got it on all versions of chun except ST...

Is it just standard now for everyone to steal youtube vids? So massively annoying, especially when I have no idea how to get stuff removed from half of these sites. Re: SSF4 Combo Engine Investigation

Can't seem to get it vs shotos. Always seems to be either too far away or not enough hit stun for the lv2.

I think I might have found a way around the problem I had actually, so it's not urgent anymore but if anyone has a specific set-up, feel free to post it up.

Re: Crazy Inspirational Match Videos

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTBtsOFc2As#t=0m58sec EDIT: as long as the block stun doesn't actually end, the combo remains intact. The only way to increase the counter though, is to disrupt a high or low block with another hit. Meaning, the block stun can't 'naturally' end. A chip kill or low/over...
