Scaling Back

Well, i’m sure most of you guys have noticed the drama on Sonic Hurricane by now. Obviously that’s going to impact ComboVid as well. I haven’t really decided what i’m going to do here, but this will probably be the end of regular daily updates around here.

That means no more daily matchvids except for screenshot winners, and i’m not even sure if i’ll keep doing weekly screenshots. We’ll see how it goes. And i’m still waiting for a few players to respond to interview questions, so the interviews will keep rolling at least for a little while.

I’ll probably continue posting new combovids that my friends release or that authors send in. On average, there are probably only one or two exceptional combo videos released per week, so i’ll post the ones i happen to watch and enjoy.

ComboVid won’t die, but i don’t have enough fuel in the tank right now to enact the grand plans i had for this website. So the only logical thing to do is take my foot off the pedal and coast. Otherwise stressing out just to maintain daily updates isn’t getting us anywhere.

The effort you have put throughout the years is appreciated. Do whatever you think is the best for you.

    Best of luck.

thanks for the effort, maj, you have to do what is right for you. if that means we dont get to watch you chase after your own fireballs and do obscene juggles then thats what it is. nothing against you, but i think most of us knew it was just a matter of time before you couldnt keep up with it, especially after your TACV schedule fell behind. so yeah, thanks for doing it while you could.

    Just, understandable.

As surely an uncountable amount of others did, I thank you heartly for everything you made, wrote and showed.

I think this site is great and I hope you continue to update it.

The aspect that I really enjoy is NOT the combo videos but the focus on classic NeoGeo and CPS2/CPS3 games. I think that’s a really enjoyable niche, and I don’t know about other people, but I’d be more than interested in reading daily updates about classic 2d fighters.

Now that I think about it, you should try to merge with Versus City. You guys could do a great news site covering fighting games. http://www.versuscity.net/

Eh, at least i managed to get ComboVid established. It’s too bad that i won’t have the time or resources to do everything i wanted with this project, but i’m sure it’ll serve a good purpose in the long-run.
