Weekly Screenshot: Web of Steel, Man of Fire

Whoever comes up with the best caption wins an old strategy guide: SNES Street Fighter II Turbo Player’s Guide or SVC Chaos Official Fighter’s Guide – your choice. As always, the rules are one entry per person and i’ll choose my favorite on Tuesday.

JV Kakyoin sets off three Houou no Kekkai nets and his India’s Arm super then backdashes and taunts, while Avdol throws a slow Honoo no Tansaki and double jumps into Fire Eagle.

Since Kakyoin has many different Taunt poses, here are some alternates i captured:

Um, i didn’t really know what to do for my first attempt at a Jojo’s Venture screenshot, so i just piled on as much stuff as i could fit on the (zoomed-out) screen.

That’s got a nice ring to it, so we’ll go with that. Not too many replies this week, but then again the screenshot could’ve been better. I wonder if there’s even a Jojo’s community to show these to.

Woe Is You: Please e-mail me your address and choose your prize. I’ll send it out within the next day or two. Congratulations!

There’s definitely a JoJo community to show it to, the thread on SRK is fairly active, and forums for the manga/anime/games seem to appreciate combo videos and such…and I’m certainly more than happy to see ’em.

Woe Is You: Your SNES SF2T Guide is in the mail as of this morning, sir. Sorry about the delay. I just haven’t been able to find the time to go to the post office until today. They make you wait in line for international shipping and there’s always one more form to fill out.

Do me a favor and make a quick post when you receive it, yeah?

I got it yesterday. It’s a really nice looking and feeling strategy guide, shame most of the contents seem like bogus from what I’ve quickly checked.

Still, it’s a nice relic from the past. Thanks, sir.

    • Maj says:

Haha yeah, it definitely shows its age. But like you said, it’s a nice relic. It’s funny that they went out of their way to redraw the official Hyper Fighting artwork. Doesn’t make much sense, unless they were trying to make it uglier for some reason.
